Former Governor of Cross River State, Sen Prof Ben Ayade on Thursday attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The former Governor's presence attracted the attention of party leaders and stakeholders who are delegates to the epoch event.

During the event, the former Governor exchanged pleasantries with the leaders including the State Chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba esq, JP, former Deputy Governor, Prof Ivara Esu, Speaker Elvert Eyambem, Deputy Speaker Sylvester Agabi Jnr, High Chief Ntufam Peter Ojie, Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo amongst others.

The summit welcomed the attendance of about 22 serving state governors, members of the party national working committee members, national assembly members, state assembly members, 36 state Exco members and several others.

Prof. Ivara Esu graces sister-in-law's burial

The remains of Golden Ezine, Ogbuefi Bernadette Nwazuruahu Nwosu, the sister in-law of the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu, has been laid to rest at her country home in Oguta, Imo State.

The burial which took place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oguta, Imo State, attracted the academia, government officials and business mogul from across the country.

In his condolence message, the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Esu, noted that the deceased had left a legacy that is worthy of emulation.

He described the deceased as a devout Christian, baptized on the 12th of December, 1942 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oguta.

He said: "my sister in-law who died at the ripe age of 93 lived a good life. She was a generous woman and a mother to all she came across. The calibre of children she raised and the height they have all attained in their various endeavours in life is indicative of her hard work and dedication, Prof. Esu said".

"She can only be remembered by her legacies. I urge other family members to sustain her legacies by continuing with her positive traits".

Prof Esu prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased perfect peace.

Late Golden Ezine was born into the family of Nwosu Okwuosha Ngoni of Umuezenwanyi kindred kindred Umudei villlage, Oguta, Imo state. She began her formal quest for education in Sacred Heart School, Oguta in 1940 for her standard 3. She later proceeded to Holy Rosary School, Oguta as one of the foundation pupils for her standard 4 & 5. She later obtain her standard 6 certificate in 1948 at Holy Rosary School, Ihiala. She proceeded to the Holy Rosary Teacher's Training College, Ihiala where she graduated with teachers grade II certificate in 1953. This heralded her dedicated journey as a professional teacher.

May her gentle soul rest in peace. Amen.

PROF. IVARA ESU ATTENDS FUNERAL SERVICE OF LATE BISHOP SAM INYANG

The former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu, OFR, Saturday 9th December, 2023 attended the funeral service of Late Bishop Sam Unor Inyang, JP held in Agwagune Community, Biase LGA of Cross River State.

The immediate past deputy governor, while condoling the families shortly after the burial described Late Bishop Sam Inyang as a great man who dedicated his life to serving God and his people with unwavering commitment and integrity, consistently promoting cohesion and unity within Agwagune community, Biase Local Government Area and Cross River State at large, having been Sole Administrator of Akamkpa and Ogoja Local Government Areas at various times.

Prof. Esu prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Late Bishop Sam Inyang's biography shows that he was born on 30th October, 1939, he attended Church of Scotland Mission (CSM) School, Agwagune and completed same in St Theresa Catholic Church Primary School, Ishiagu and later proceeded to Lagos where he gained admission into the Federal School of Arts and Science to study Agriculture before he took appointment as clerical officer.

Late Bishop Sam Unoh Inyang, JP died at the age of 84 and survived by his loving wife, children and many relatives.
