EFCC's Twitter Account Disappears Amid Cyber Warfare Threats

The Twitter handle of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), , has mysteriously vanished from the platform, leaving its 2.2 million followers in the dark. The disappearance comes after suspected internet fraudsters threatened cyber warfare against the anti-graft agency.

According to Dele Oyewale, EFCC's chief spokesman, the handle has been down for three days due to a network problem, and the agency's ICT department is working to resolve the issue.

However, the timing of the disappearance raises concerns, as it follows threats from suspected Yahoo Boys who vowed to take down the EFCC's online presence in retaliation for the agency's crackdown on internet fraud.

The EFCC has been actively combating online fraud, and this latest development suggests that the agency's efforts have not gone unnoticed by criminal elements.

We urge the EFCC to take immediate action to restore its Twitter handle and ensure the security of its online presence. The fight against corruption and fraud must not be hindered by cyber threats.

Selah - The Management of the University of Calabar has suspended the Vice President of the University of Calabar Students Union Government (SUG), Comr. Agnes Charles Chiadi of the Faculty of Management Sciences for misconduct.

The SUG Vice President is said to have allowed her official vehicle to be used as part of the wild celebrations after examinations in violation of a subsisting ban on such acts.

A letter of suspension signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe reads in part; "Your actions tantamount to
abuse of office and flagrant disregard to the policies of the university which you swore to uphold
and obey. As an executive member of the students union Government of the University, one
would have expected that you live by example. This, unfortunately is the opposite as seen in yourrecent actions".

Her actions are considered lawless and unacceptable as they contravene the Students' code of conduct as stipulated in the Students' Handbook, including several memos sent out, cautioning against such acts.

Accordingly, Management has approved her suspension from studies with effect from August 14, 2024.

The SUG Vice President has been directed to stay away from campus unless when invited by the Students’Disciplinary Committee, which has been mandated to investigate the matter, and to also showcause why she should continue to hold that office as Deputy Vice President of the University Students Union Government.

Furthermore, the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences and Dean, Students Affairs have been enjoined to take note of this
decision of Management while the Ag. CSO is to ensure that the vehicle attached to her is withdrawn immediately.

*UNICAL MANAGEMENT SUSPENDS FINAL YEAR STUDENTS FOR FLOUTING DIRECTIVES ON WILD CELEBRATIONS*

The Management of the University of Calabar has announced the suspension of all final year students of the Departments of Environmental Protection and Management, Microbiology and Mass Communication for flouting Management's directive.

Final year students of the three departments are said to have acted in violation of the ban on reckless driving, flying of colours and wild celebrations after examinations as contained in a circular with ref; UC/REG/DISC. 45 dated August 7, 2024.

The suspension notice as contained in a Memo signed by the Institution's Registrar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe states that the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Obi is saddened by the development which does not portray the students in good light.

To this end, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic has been directed to suspend all actions relating to the processing of the affected students results, even as the matter is being referred to a Special Management Committee charged with the responsibility to investigate the matter and make recommendation(s) to Management.

The Deans of the affected faculties have also been directed to ensure full compliance with Management's directive on the matter.

The management of Unicross are the ones causing confusion there for them.

How on earth will the school management be so emotional about who becomes the Institution's SUG President?

We have since advised the school management to abolish the use of 'student electoral board chairman' to avoid too much of interest, but should rather use some of the academic/non-academic staff for the conduct of Unicross SUG elections.

The process is very simple, b'cos they'll have to study the zoning structure, thereby making sure that if for instance the office of the SUG President has been zoned to the faculty of Engineering, then all members of the electoral committee should come from Faculties/Departments far away from Engineering and Sciences to at least help to curtail some excessiveness.

Management should also try as much as possible to distance themselves from the activities of student unionism, but rather they should play advisory roles whenever the needs arises.

The student on the other hand, are not trying at all, b'cos the don't even know how to go about all this processes, and they don't want to know.

Leader, it will shock you to know that some of them don't even know the three C's of aluta, which is even the common code that binds the students together in unionism.

The student are no longer enjoying union the way we do during our time, they keep progressing in error.

Cultism is the order of the day in Unicross unionism now, b'cos both the management and student are cultist, and they join hands together in making sure that everything about students unionism on campus, remains under their control.

The school internal security men are not left out of the whole mess, as they're the number one piloters of crimes/criminality within the school campus. Most of those harden cultist/criminals, are children of those bigwigs security officers who're even helping their children in aiding/abating crimes inside the campus.
