For a successful career as a Colorist, develop expertise in these 10 areas:

1. Scope analysis,

2. Log to Rec 709 conversion,

3. Colorspace selection tailored to project output,

4. HDR fundamentals,

5. Effective use of RGB Parade, VectorScope, and Waveform Monitor,

6. Integrating film grains for enhanced texture,

7. Establishing clean blacks and whites pre-stylization,

8. Efficient grading with minimal Nodes,

9. Utilizing Color Calibrated Monitors for accuracy,

10. Investing in Colorgrading for optimal results.

NB: these tools are available in both Adobe Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve, just different patterns, but the aim of the post was for Davinci Resolve.
