Muslims Storm Polaris Bank in Droves To Close Accounts, Cite Islamophobia

"This is how we troops into the Bigot Bank this morning to withdraw and close our account.
but unfortunately unable to do so.
after i withdrew all funds living almost zero Naira, i then requested bank account closing form, the lady at the customer care shouted what happen Alahaji, i replied "Nosin" with my hausa dialect, she stood up and ushered me to manager's office, and said "sir same problem" the manager stood up and shook my hands and instructed me to sit down while he round up with someone who i believed he also come for same issue."

"The manager greated me with slight bow accompanied with charming smiling as if we are familiar, he said Baruka da Jumoo, i answered barka dai with frowned face."

"He is a yoruba muslim with prayer dot on his forehead, he tried to convince me not to close the account but my obstinate conservative emotions told me no.
until he gathered others staffs to help him including an igbo lady who borrow headscarf to cover her head to talk to conservative muslim😄, though because of the kindness of the manager i walkout without accomplishing the mission."

" Nevertheless notwithstanding i withdrew all my money and believe many also did same,
our action will serves as deterrent to potential bigot who don't want to live peace."

The container was said to have kno¢ked two smaller vehicles, into the River.

The incident occurred on Friday during the heavy rainfall.

The acc$dent caused heavy gridlock on the road as commuters were left stranded.

The Eleme axis of the East-West road has remained dilapidated for years despite several protests by youths and other stakeholders in Ogoni land.

Earlier in the week, a youth group thre@tened to stage a massive protest on the road at the end of October if the federal government fails to mobilize contractors to the road to commence the repairs.

The Rivers State police command is yet to comment on the incident.

Eight Persons K!lled As Flood Washes Pythons, Dang£rous Sea Rept!les Into Delta State Communities

Dev@stating floods have continued to ravage Niger Delta communities, sweeping pythons and other rept!les into the areas – a development which has heightened panic among residents.

Residents now scamper for safety for fear of being k!lled, Vanguard was told.

The ravaging flood which has cut off parts of the East-West Road has continued to wreak havoc in communities along the bank of the River Niger.

The flood had sw£pt away at least eight residents as well as de$troyed crops and houses worth millions of naira in the state.
Meanwhile, some travellers on the East-West Road have been stranded as others resort to use of canoes to cross over to the other side to board vehicles to continue their journeys.

While lamenting that the flood has overwhelmed one part of the Ughelli-Patani axis of the East-West Road, he said, “Trucks conveying relief materials to that axis have been trapped. We now make use of speed boats to access the IDP camps to deliver materials to the victims.”

He said 4,755 persons including men, women, children, lactating mothers, pregnant women and persons with disabilities, had so far been registered at the camps across the state, lamenting that 19 out of the 25 local government areas were affected by the flood.

NEWS2023 presidency: Bribery allegations rock Ohanaeze
Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, bribery allegations have again hit the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

DAILY POST reports that this is not the first time the Igbo organization is coming under public scrutiny for such allegations.

In some previous presidential polls, members of the organization had also been accused of collecting money running into billions of naira from presidential candidates.

In 2019, Ohanaeze endorsed Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in spite of stiff opposition from members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the South-East zone. The development led to a sharp division in the group.

This time, in a social media video clip making the rounds, it was alleged that the Igbo group demanded payments from one Comrade Kennedy Iyere as a condition to support a Nigerian Presidential candidate from the South East.

Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party is a key presidential candidate from the South-East zone.

Some unnamed Ohanaeze leaders were said to have demanded money as a condition to participate in a meeting for a facilitation of Nigeria president of Igbo extraction.

However, the spokesman of the Prof. George Obiozor-led Ohanaeze, Chief Alex Ogbonnia has rubished the claims, noting that the Ohanaeze had always been at the forefront of the push for a South-East presidency.

He went ahead to express regrets for the group’s support to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in the 2019 general elections.

He added that the current travails being faced by Igbos were caused by their support for Atiku then, who incidentally is currently the presidential flagbearer of the PDP.

Ogbonnia dismissed the bribery claim as the most “fallacious, mendacious and callous of all the falsehoods aimed at tarnishing the image of the Igbo as the Judas category that values money more than human conscience.”

According to him, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo took the advocacy for a president from the South East of Nigeria to all parts of Nigeria, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar III; Chief E K Clarke, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the British High Commission and so many other places.

While insisting on president of South East extraction, he restated that he wrote to Atiku to remind him that their support for him in 2019 was the cause of the current travails of the Igbos.

“I also wrote to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, reminding him that the current Igbo travails are as a result of our support to his candidacy in 2019. A simple search on the internet will reveal that Ohanaeze had made numerous press releases urging Nigerians and the international community to lend support to the quest by the South East for presidency.

“On December 13, 2021, I personally addressed an Open Letter to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, reminding him that it is the turn of the South East to produce a president for Nigeria and urging him not to contest the 2023 presidency on the grounds of equity, justice and fairness.

“The Ohanaeze Ndigbo further propagated the advocacy to the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders (SMBLF) led by Chief E K Clarke, and Chief Nnia Nwodo as the Coordinator General. Other leaders of the SMBLF include Chief Ayo Adebanjo, the Leader of the Afenifere; Dr Pogu Bitrus, Leader, Middle Belt Forum, among others. Our gratitude goes to the SMBLF for their irrevocable position to support an Igbo of the South East for presidency in 2023. Similarly, we thank Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for receiving us in his Abeokuta residence about three times.

“In the social media clip making the rounds, orchestrated by one Comrade Kennedy Iyere, he alleged that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Nnia Nwodo demanded payments from him to attend a meeting at Awka for a Nigerian president from the South East.

“The truth of the matter: In October 2020, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene, former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Anambra State chapter was contacted by Chief Iyere to invite the seven state presidents from the seven Ohanaeze States.

“Ogene explained to Iyere that members would be coming to Awka from distant places such as Port Harcourt, Owerri, Aba, Ebonyi and that it would not be possible for them to go back to their locations on the same day. Iyere promised to secure hotel accommodation for the seven persons, and that he would also pay for their transport costs.

“At the meeting in one hotel at Awka, Iyere was seated with White men and he highlighted the unbearable injustice to the Igbo by the past Nigerian leaders and the equity in a South Easterner to become the president of Nigeria come 2023.”

“Paradoxically, we were very delighted and also curious that a non-Igbo and White men were championing an Igbo cause. At the end of the meeting, he pleaded with us to manage seventy thousand naira (N70, 000.00); that is, ten thousand naira each, as transport costs.

“Some of us refused the money, while some others reasoned that it could be misinterpreted if we rejected the N10,000 each. I am rather shocked by the depravity and a kindergarten shenanigan with which Iyere painted his encounter with the Ohanaeze Ndigbo; that Ohanaeze Ndigbo demanded payment from him in order to support an Igbo for presidency,” he said.

Peter Obi: Presidency Not a Regional Affair, Igbo Need a National Platform - Orji Kalu

Presidency is not a regional issue. I asked the political parties to zone the presidency to the South East. When they didn't do that, and since the presidency is not a regional issue, I had to withdraw.

"I have no problem with Igbo man being president. But we have to do it with other Nigerians. If we don't do it with other Nigerians, it is not going to work, no matter how popular you are. It's the president of Nigeria, not president of Igbo land.

"I'm an Igbo man to the core. I'm also a Nigerian to the core. If anyone from the southeast would have been nominated for presidency, I would have been the one. So, it's a party business. I have no grudges against anybody who is running.

When asked his view on the aspiration of the Labour Candidate Peter Obi who hails from the South-East, Kalu represents Abia North said he holds nothing personal against Obi running for Presidency but as a loyal member of APC he cannot work against the interest of his party and that of his close allies and friends

He explained;
"It is not personal. It is political and party. This thing is about the party winning the election. I have chosen to be in APC. Why will I vote against Tinubu? Elections go along party lines, not along tribal lines.

"For me, we will wait for another time and see how all Nigerians will agree to zone the presidency to Igbo land. But for now, our presidential candidate is Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Tinubu is strategic, he will make his presidency beneficial to the Igbos. The Igbos will be the biggest beneficiaries of Tinubu's presidency.

In no time, INEC will release the names of all candidates who take part in the 2023 general elections.

The tension is high for some political parties as the long wait draws to its end.

Some parties might just get the biggest shocker ahead of the elections.
