Bolaji Abdulrauf Foundation Donates ₦10 Million to Support NBTI's NextGen Innovation Challenge 2026

The Bolaji Abdulrauf Foundation has donated ₦10 million to support the NextGen Innovation Challenge organised by the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), describing the initiative as a platform capable of unlocking raw talent and innovative potential among young Nigerians.

The Founder of the Foundation, Hon. Bolaji Abdulrauf, said the contribution was driven by his belief in the capacity of young innovators to develop practical solutions to challenges in critical sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, security, and other areas of national development.

In a statement, Abdulrauf urged the Federal Government, state governments, private investors, development organisations, and philanthropists to emulate the gesture by investing in promising youth-led innovations.

He noted that many young Nigerians possess innovative ideas and talents but often lack access to funding, mentorship, technical guidance, and platforms through which their solutions can be developed and showcased. According to him, the NBTI NextGen Innovation Challenge provides an important opportunity to bridge that gap by identifying promising innovators and creating an avenue for them to develop their ideas into practical solutions.

Abdulrauf also commended the Director-General of NBTI, Dr. Kazim Kolawole Raji, popularly known as Dr. KK Raji, for transforming the agency through innovation-driven, youth-focused initiatives and human capital development.

"Dr. KK Raji is a transformer who has reshaped and placed NBTI in a better position. Part of his transformation is the Innovation Challenge, which has unlocked the natural potential and zeal of our youths to compete for the best," he said.

He described the Innovation Challenge as a platform capable of unlocking raw talent across Nigeria and beyond, stressing that supporting young innovators would contribute to technological advancement, job creation, and national development.

The Foundation Founder further encouraged heads of government agencies to embrace innovative, result-oriented leadership, saying public institutions could deliver greater impact when their leaders actively seek new ways of improving operations and services.

Abdulrauf said the ₦10 million support was intended to contribute to the growth of the innovation ecosystem and encourage more stakeholders to invest in the ideas and capabilities of young Nigerians.

KWARA APC LIKE-MINDS TACKLES OFFA LG CHAIRMAN OVER SILENCE ON TAIYE OMOTOSHO RECORDS

Group threatens legal action over unreleased official records

The Kwara APC LIKE-MINDS has taken on the Chairman of Offa Local Government over what it described as his continued failure to respond to a formal letter from the group's legal office, seeking clarification and official records relating to Hon. Taiye Omotosho.

The group said the letter sought information on allegations that Hon. Omotosho was owed certain payments before and around the time she obtained the State House of Assembly nomination form.

Kwara APC LIKE-MINDS expressed disappointment over the chairman's silence, warning that it risked creating the impression that the matter was being handled along political lines.

The group insisted its request was not aimed at witch-hunting anyone, but at establishing facts through official records and due process.

"We expect the local government chairman to respond to a formal request from our legal office and make the relevant records available. Transparency should not be sacrificed for political interests," the group stated.

It further warned that continued silence from the chairman could leave it with no choice but to pursue legal redress, stressing that it was prepared to approach the appropriate court to compel the release of the information, adding: "Where transparency fails, the law must take its course."

Kwara APC LIKE-MINDS called on the chairman to respond to the letter and release the requested records, noting that doing so would help douse the growing controversy. The group maintained that the matter should be resolved through facts and due process, not political maneuvering.
