Grace found Zadok Yohanna... The rejected stone from Nigeria's ๐ณ๐ฌ U-17 and U-20 teams has now become a golden stone.
Zadok Yohanna was dropped from both the Nigeria U-17 and U-20 teams because he was considered not physically mature or strong enough, while other players were selected ahead of him.
However, after being left out of Coach Aliyu Zubairu's U-20 squad, fate smiled on him. Scouts from Swedish club AIK Stockholm discovered the talented youngster while he was still playing for Kaduna-based Ikon Allah FC. ๐ณ๐ฌโก๏ธ๐ธ๐ช
The scout who discovered him, Herish Sadi, revealed:
โI called the AIK CEO and said, 'You need to close this deal right away. If it doesn't turn out well, fire me. Fire me without compensation.'โ
He further added:
โI negotiated with the president and managers there. I actually finalized the deal that same evening with Ikon Allah FC, and he officially became an AIK player.โ
Just one year later, the same player who was deemed not good enough for Nigeria's U-17 and U-20 teams has completed a move to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion from AIK Stockholm in a deal reportedly worth over โฆ44 billion (ยฃ28 million). ๐ฐ๐ฅ
What a turnaround! From rejection to the Premier League in just one year. Football can change a life in the blink of an eye.
๐ซต๐พ A powerful reminder that rejection is not the end of the roadsometimes it's the beginning of something greater.
Never give up ๐ซต๐พ
