HANDLING FAKE PROMISES

I have noticed how people suffer from fake promises. Dealing with fake promises requires wisdom, patience, and discernment. People may make beautiful promises but fail to keep them, teaching us that words must be tested by actions. Proverbs 12:22 also reminds us that “the Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” The ancestors counsel, “A promise is a debt.” Therefore, we should be careful about making promises and equally careful about trusting promises that are repeatedly broken.

When someone deceives us with false promises, we should not allow disappointment to turn us into bitter or dishonest people. Instead, we should learn from the experience and seek God’s guidance. We should place our ultimate trust in God rather than in human words, because people can change, forget, or disappoint us, but God remains faithful. To avoid fake promises, our elders say, “The one who asks questions does not lose his way.” This teaches us to seek clarity, examine situations carefully, and avoid believing every promise without evidence.

Finally, dealing with fake promises means learning to forgive while also setting wise boundaries. Forgiveness does not mean that we must continue trusting someone who repeatedly deceives us. Jesus teaches in Matthew 10:16 to be “as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” We can remain kind-hearted while being wise about whom we trust. Fake promises may hurt us, but they can also teach us discernment, strengthen our character, and draw us closer to the God whose promises never fail.

In the case of Jesus and the Canaanite woman, those who have faith and persevere in prayer receive the blessings of God in abundance.

Our duty is not to give up in seeking good and civil governance.
Let us persevere in prayer and do the will of God.

ARE YOU A MEMBER OF A FAMILY?
The Family is an Evangelist

When man deviated from the purpose for which he was created, he became the opposite of what God intended him to be. Love turned to hatred.

God is using the Family and the Church to redeem human civilisation through the proclamation of the love of God. There is a clarion call to repentance for every child of God to turn a renewed seed in the family.

Teaching love within the small, close-knit family simplifies the Church’s assignment of inculcating love in the world, so that the world can become a more peaceful and better place.

If there were love, there would be no kidnappings, murders, selfish governance, or the many crimes and sins for which Jesus sacrificed His life.

Love your family. Inculcate the love of God and humanity in your home.

IT FIRST PASSED THROUGH HIM

There are three facts I wish to draw attention to. Firstly, nothing moves without His hand. Nothing can happen without God’s permission. That’s both sobering and comforting. It means no sickness, no job loss, no betrayal, no delay catches Him by surprise. If it reached you, it first passed through Him. And God will not allow a difficulty unless He has a divine purpose for it. He’s not cruel. He’s strategic. The same God who allowed the furnace also stood in it with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The test is never wasted. He’s either pruning us, protecting us, or positioning us.

Secondly, Peace is how we pass the test. The instruction is simple but not easy: If you will keep your peace, you'll pass the test. Panic makes us make bad decisions. Worry makes us doubt God’s goodness. But peace says, “God is still on the throne and He’s still working.” Peace is not ignoring the problem. It’s trusting the Person who allowed it. When we guard our heart and refuse bitterness, we stay teachable. That’s when God can do the deepest work in us — shaping character, building faith, and breaking pride.

Thirdly, He brings you out better. God never wastes a season. He’s not just trying to get you out of the difficulty. He’s trying to get something out of you in the difficulty. And the promise is sure: God will bring you out better than you were before. Better in faith. Better in wisdom. Better in dependence on Him. What was meant to break you becomes the testimony that helps someone else.
Remember: So don’t rush the process. Breathe. Trust. Keep your peace. The same God who permitted it has a purpose in it, and He will perfect it.

LET LOVE BE MORE OF ACTION, NOT LIP SERVICE

The day family members stop caring for one another, that is the day family love begins to fade.
The institution of marriage is sacred, but when there is no love in the family, civilisation loses one of its strongest foundations.

Without love, there is no unity in the family.
The love within a family guides individuals to uphold the good name of the family through positive actions.

Parents must sustain love in the family by nurturing every member with the love of God.
Love with a sincere heart.

OUR ANCESTORS DIDN'T WRITE TEXTBOOKS BUT THEY WROTE WISDOM

Our ancestors and elders may not have written their knowledge on pages, but they inscribed it upon the lives of those who came after them. Their classrooms were the seasons of life, their lessons were shaped by hardship, joy, loss, love, and survival. They understood that knowledge is not always something to be memorised; sometimes, it is something to be lived. Their wisdom was found in quiet words, meaningful silences, ancient proverbs, and stories that carried the memories of generations.

In a world that often measures intelligence by certificates and books, our elders remind us that there is another form of knowledge—the wisdom that comes from experience. A textbook can tell us what life is, but experience can teach us how to live it. Their lessons were not always written in ink, but they were written in character, sacrifice, and the choices they made. They taught us that patience can outlive anger, kindness can outlast power, and time can reveal truths that knowledge alone cannot explain.

Perhaps the greatest tragedy of a generation is not losing its books, but losing the voices of those who lived before it. When an elder dies, a library of unwritten stories, lessons, and experiences can disappear with them. To recall our ancestors and listen to our elders, therefore, is more than an act of respect; it is an encounter with the past and a conversation with wisdom itself. They may not have written textbooks, but through the lives they lived, they wrote lessons that time cannot easily erase.

WHY ARE YOU IN DOUBT?
HAVE FAITH

Pray consistently.
That is when the impossible happens. Prayer is the master key that opens the doors of possibilities.

Through prayer, Jesus exercised His power over nature.
Through faith, Peter walked on the sea, but when his faith failed, he began to sink.

Doubt is a failure of faith in Christ. Be consistent in your faith in Jesus.
Fear is also a manifestation of a lack of faith. Remember: what you fear most is often what comes to pass.

Put all your trust in God.
Even when you doubt and fear, it does not change or stop what God will do. Only faith and hope in God sustain life.

Only Jesus can save.
Persevere in faith — better days are coming.

KEEPING SANITY AMIDST CHALLENGES

Keeping sanity amidst challenges requires resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to remain calm in the face of difficulties. Life often presents obstacles, such as academic pressure, financial hardship, family responsibilities, or workplace demands, that can impact emotional and mental well-being. Maintaining sanity does not mean avoiding problems; rather, it involves responding to them with patience, hope, and practical coping strategies. Seeking support from good family, noble friends, mentors, or reputable professionals, maintaining healthy habits, and taking time for rest and reflection can help individuals manage stress and maintain emotional balance during difficult times.

Reflecting on this theme, I recognise that challenges are an inevitable part of life and can become opportunities for personal growth when approached with a positive mindset. Every difficult experience teaches valuable lessons about perseverance, adaptability, and inner strength. Instead of allowing setbacks to create despair, it is important to focus on solutions, remain optimistic, and trust that challenges are temporary.

BUILDING A GODLY MARRIAGE

God is the author of marriage.
It existed before governments, culture, tradition, or business. So no earthly system can define it. A godly home must be built on God’s principles, not man’s patterns.

Marriage is divine. It is the moment God reveals a man’s rib — his help, his blessing.
For Prince Justine, it was the discovery of Blessing.

And the foundation of this divine union is LOVE. Love covers all.

May the sacred union of Prince Justine and Princess Blessing Daikwo be rooted in God, watered by love, and kept forever in Jesus’ name.
