Mr. Peter Obi serving food at an event is not a big deal and it’s certainly not something to criticize.

He wasn't serving food to celebrities, party bigwigs, or fellow elites. He was serving elderly Nigerians, many of whom look like they’ve seen hardship. That adds weight and meaning to the act.

These are people who’ve likely been ignored by the same system for decades, yet here comes a man, a former governor and presidential candidate, personally serving them food. That’s not just symbolic; it’s deeply respectful.

So for those still shouting "PR," ask yourself: When last did your favorite politician go near the elderly without using them as props?

There’s nothing new or bad here. Even American presidents have been seen serving food at homeless shelters, veterans’ homes, and community kitchens. It’s called symbolic leadership, a gesture that shows empathy, humility, and connection with the people.

But trust some Nigerians, when one of their own does it, they scream “PR” like it’s a crime to market integrity. Let the man serve food abeg. Some of your faves can’t even serve their conscience, let alone their people.
