Yesterday has been a profoundly painful day.

We have lost two towering figures—former President Muhammadu Buhari and Kabiyesi Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland.

Oba Adetona was not just a traditional ruler; he was a symbol of stability and wisdom. For 65 remarkable years, he led Ijebuland with uncommon grace, foresight, and devotion. His influence reached far beyond Ogun State, earning him respect across Nigeria and beyond. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the unity he fostered, and the progress he championed.

It is difficult to imagine Ijebuland without him. He was a voice of reason, a steady hand, and a father to many. His presence was powerful, and his commitment to his people was unwavering.

My heartfelt condolences go to Governor Dapo Abiodun, the entire people of Ijebuland and Ogun State, and the families of these two extraordinary leaders.

Today, we grieve together. May their souls rest in perfect peace.
