We are seeking experience Safety Officers and Security Officers to support and enforce the safety and security strategy of the company by ensuring the safety of staff, assets, passengers, and facilities through effective security monitoring, reporting, and response operations.
SECURITY OFFICER:
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor daily security operations across company depots, terminals, and transit routes.
2. Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols.
3. Conduct routine and ad-hoc security patrols and spot checks to deter and detect irregular activities.
4. Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) and respond promptly to security incidents.
5. Assist in the investigation of reported security breaches, theft, vandalism, or misconduct.
6. Liaise with law enforcement agencies and emergency services when required.
7. Ensure access control measures are enforced for all personnel and visitors.
8. Maintain accurate logs of incidents, observations, and follow-up actions.
9. Support emergency preparedness drills and contribute to risk assessments.
10. Recommend security improvements based on trends, threats, or vulnerabilities.
Requirements:
1. HND or Bachelor's degree (preferably in Criminology, Security Studies, Social Sciences, or related field).
2. At least 2 years of hands-on experience in corporate or transportation security operations.
3. Knowledge of security equipment and procedures (e.g., CCTV, access control, patrol systems).
4. Strong observational and incident reporting skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
6. Good physical condition and alertness.
7. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulatory requirements in the transportation industry is an added advantage.
SAFETY OFFICER: Responsibilities:
1. Investigations into workplace accidents, near-misses, or environmental incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence
2. Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment.
3. Ensures emergency response systems, policies and procedures are in place to manage emergencies and are maintained.
4. Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits on construction sites.
5. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and industry best practices.
6. Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, including warehouse staff, drivers, and office personnel, covering topics such as fire safety, and emergency response procedures.
7. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
8. Use tools like Microsoft tools to monitor safety metrics, track incidents, and prepare reports on HSE performance.
9. Conduct emergency drills and implement emergency response plans.
10. Assist in organizing safety trainings, toolbox meetings, safety talk and onboarding sessions for new staff.
11. Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance
12. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure the integration of safety practices into daily operations.
Requirements:
1. HND or bachelor’s degree in occupational HSE, Science or Social Science related Course.
2. Minimum of 2 years of HSE experience, preferably in the Transportation Industry.
3. Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is required.
4. Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System).
5. Excellent understanding of HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
6. Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
7. Ability to work independently and make strategic safety decisions.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
