BREAKING!!! Senate Reportedly Approves Creation Of 12 New States Across Nigeria.

The Nigerian Senate has approved the creation of 12 new states across the country’s six geo-political zones in a landmark legislative move aimed at enhancing equity, representation, and grassroots governance.

The approval followed the adoption of the report by the Senate Committee on State Creation, which passed through its third and final reading on the floor of the upper chamber on Thursday.

According to the report, the creation of the new states is the result of extensive nationwide consultations, public hearings, and memoranda submitted by various stakeholders, including state governments, traditional institutions, and civil society groups.

The newly approved states are as follows:

South West:

Ijebu State – Carved out of Ogun State

Ibadan State – Carved out of Oyo State

South East:

Anim State – From parts of Anambra and Imo States

Adada State – From Enugu State

South South:

Toru-Ibe State – Drawn from sections of Ondo, Edo, and Delta States

Obolo State – From Akwa Ibom State

North East:

Savanna State – From Borno State

Amana State – From Adamawa State

North West:

Tiga State – From Kano State

Gurara State – From Southern Kaduna

North Central:

Okura State – From Kogi State

Apa State – From Benue State

The Senate said the move is intended to correct perceived imbalances in state representation, address developmental gaps, and bring governance closer to the people in underserved areas.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended his colleagues for what he described as “a courageous and unifying decision,” noting that the passage aligns with the aspirations of many Nigerians who have clamored for new states over the years.

A government gazette detailing the boundaries, administrative structures, and transitional guidelines for the new states is expected to be published in the coming weeks.

The proposal will now proceed to the House of Representatives for concurrence and then to the President for assent, in line with constitutional provisions.

If fully ratified, the development will raise the number of states in Nigeria from 36 to 48, marking the first major state creation exercise in the country since 1996.

MY MEETING WITH OBASANJO

• Nigerian Lady Aminat Sule Shares How She Met Former President
Obasanjo In London And Became His Self Appointed Personal Assitant
Let's read her
I set a goal for myself to become the youngest first female foreign
affairs minister for Nigeria. For someone who was born in the UK. It
sounded quite radical right?
Due to a lack of funding, my show could no longer be aired on National
TV
Shortly after this happened lI was told by a learned colleague Sayi about
an event hosted by Chatham House called "Re-Writing Politics to
Africa's Advantage." President Obasanjo was one of the panelists.
I was determined to serve one of the greatest leaders in Africa. So I
positioned myself front row. I sat in the seat reserved for a
journalist - my apologies your correspondent
arrived late.
I made eye contact with Mr Olusegun the entire event. From start to
finish. Once the event was over. Guests and fellow panelists wanted to
take pictures and engage with Pres. Obasanjo.
I stormed onto the stage and said, excuse me: "No more pictures! Can
we get him into a private room, with a glass of water? In 10 minutes
he'll resume to discuss matters and entertain the press."
He followed me & when we got into the room he asked: "Who's
daughter are you?"
I responded "My father isn't anyone you know. He's Just a normal
Nigerian citizen who relocated to the UK for a better life"
He chuckled and said "so how can I help you?"
I said "well l'm your new PA. I'm going to serve you."
I've been serving him since that date.
Moral of the story: Opportunities don't always come to you. Sometimes
you have to create your own opportunities.

This little girl from Akwa Ibom, still in secondary school, had just made new braids and came to school.

When she arrived, a teacher stopped her and said her hairstyle wasn’t the approved style for that week, and that she had to remove it.

The girl begged. She told the teacher that her hair was still new, that it was painful to take it out, and that she had even spent good money to get it done.

She asked if she could at least keep it for a week before loosening it. But the teacher didn’t agree.

Next thing, they started going back and forth, and before you knew it, the teacher grabbed scissors and cut the girl’s hair. Not just the extensions… she even cut her real hair.

The girl went home that day. The next morning, she came back to school with a locally made gu #.

She walked straight to the teacher’s office, pointed the gu # at her head… and sh°t her.

The gu # looked so old and useless that nobody would believe it could even work, but it did.

Now, the question is, where did she even get that kind of gu # from?
Who gave it to her? She’s still a minor, and you know how Nigeria is… minors don’t usually go to prison.

And as far as I know, we don’t even have proper juvenile centers in this country.

The whole story is cr?zy.

“Girls are now selling their eggs to survive” — Twitter Doctor raises alarm over growing trend in Nigerian universities

A Nigerian doctor has raised serious alarm over what he calls a silent pandemic — the increasing number of young female students donating their eggs for money.

He claims many of these ladies, especially in universities, are rushing to fertility centres and exchanging their eggs for small cash — all because of the harsh economic situation in the country.

In his words, “Our young ladies are selling their future children for peanuts due to harsh economic situations and everyone is silent.”

❗ Does the Sagbama Prosperity House Press Release Say Governor Diri Is Not Leaving PDP?

No, it does not. The press release does not confirm that Governor Douye Diri is staying in the PDP. In fact, it acknowledges the possibility of his defection by stating:

“If Governor Diri leaves PDP, the party will likely crumble in the state…”

This line implies that his departure is being considered, or at least feared, but does not deny that it could happen.

📰 𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙇𝘼𝙏𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎 𝙍𝙀𝙑𝙀𝘼𝙇𝙎

1. Governor Diri is reportedly in advanced talks with APC officials and has consulted National Assembly members about defecting.

2. His Technical Adviser on Print Media, Wisdom Ikuli, is leading a campaign urging him to defect, calling it “non-negotiable and sacrosanct”.

3. Daily rallies are being planned in Yenagoa to pressure him into joining APC.

4. Diri’s spokesperson, Daniel Alabrah, says he’s not aware of any defection plans but admits the governor will speak clearly when ready.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬

Governor Diri’s defection would:
1. Leave Rivers as the only PDP-controlled state in the South-South.

2. Potentially shift Bayelsa’s alignment with the federal government, unlocking stalled development projects like the Agge Seaport.

3. Deepen the crisis within PDP, especially with internal court cases threatening candidate nominations.

DREAMS UNBROKEN :- THE BAYELSAN CHILD'S FIGHT FOR TOMORROW

Kariyai Ezekiel
Born where the rivers carve stories into the land,
where the mangroves whisper of resilience,
a child of Bayelsa stands, eyes full of longing,
heart heavy with dreams yet untouched by fate.

They dream in colors the sun has not yet painted,
of classrooms where knowledge flows like the tide,
of roads that do not fade into silence,
of hands that lift rather than weigh them down.

The echoes of promise drown in the flood,
in the oil-slicked waters that never quench thirst,
in the lullabies sung to an indifferent sky,
in the weight of hope carried by tired feet.

Yet the Bayelsan child still dreams.
Because even in the spaces between broken promises,
in the hush of a forgotten song,
hope is stubborn. And hope does not fade.
Not here. Not now. Not ever.
NOT HERE!
NOT NOW!
NOT EVER!

Two years after marriage, I didn't have a child. It was a serious issue for me but my husband didn't care. He kept saying pregnancy would come when it would come so we couldn't force it. I pushed him to go to the hospital with me, he didn't go. I asked him to take herbs to increase our chances, he didn't do it. I was left alone to do everything by myself.

I felt the devil was blocking my husband's ears, so I started praying. Three years, four years, still nothing. A friend told me about her prophet. I went to see him. After a series of directions that included chipping off soil from a mud house and eating it, nothing happened. I changed him. This one was a woman. She made me go naked in her office while she poured anointing oil on my whole body, concentrating on my tummy. Nothing happened.

My husband slept soundly. As if he knew something that I didn't know. To make issues worse, our bedroom light went off. We didn't do a lot for a couple looking for a child. He complained of tiredness while I complained of childlessness.

I saw on TV a pastor who promised babies as if they were manner falling from the skies. His church was close to where I lived so I went there. He was attentive to details and assured me that everything would be well. He gave me directions which I followed. He told me I would see signs in a month. Three months later, nothing happened.

He said, "The next step is very hard for me to say but that's what the spirit requires. Let me consult more and get back to you."

For weeks he couldn't tell me what the spirit wanted. I told him, "Daddy I'm desperate. Just tell me and I will do it." He sighed, buried his face in his palms and said, "The one fighting your seed is closer than your skin. I need to be closer to fight it. Bring your husband here. I'll give you a room and stand next to you. You'll do it as I watch for three consecutive days. After that, you'll win."

I was laughing when I was walking out of his door. When I got out I laughed out so loud someone might have thought I was going crazy. I stopped searching for a child that day. I would usually tell my husband what a pastor said or didn't say but this one, I didn't have the courage to even make a joke out of it. I was stunned, embarrassed and lost the desire to go on. I slept next to my husband and both of us slept soundly.

Two to three months later, my body started showing signs. It wasn't the first time I'd experienced such so I ignored it. It looks like pregnancy loves to be ignored and not pursued. It came like a thief in the night.

Before pregnancy, my husband got promoted. Before delivery, he was given a company house and an official vehicle. We might say the baby brought us blessings but I would like to look at it differently because of what I know. “In his time, he makes all things beautiful” so they say his time is the best. What I call struggle was his way of making us ready or making a home for the blessing he was bringing our way.
