Achina Ọkwaranwa Erosion Site visited by Federal Govt House Committee

The Nigeria Federal House of Reps Committee on Ecological Project and Environment on the 19th February 2025 visited Achina Okwarannwa erosion site to see for themselves the extents of damage done by the erosion menace ravaging not just Achina, also in some Aguata communities.

The federal House of Reps delegates was accompanied by Hon Anayo Okpalaeke, Representing Aguata I constituency, Mr Tochukwu Obodogha Perm Sec. State Ministry of Environment, Project Coordinator Anambra State Agency in Charge of Erosion Control, Prof Phil Eze, Hon Dom Okafor representing Aguata federal constituency who moved the motion that triggered the visit after a public hearing in Abuja on 'Erosion Menace ravaging Aguata communities.'

Achina community leaders led by Hon Tony Ezenwaka, NPOM the President General was present.

Former Nigeria Minister of Aviation Chief Osita Chidioka (Ike Obosi) chaired the occasion.

Former Presidential Aspirant Mr Peter Obi attended with host of dignitaries far and near.

Cultural displays and conferment of Chieftaincy title to 15 Achina citizens and 2 non ndí Achina was equally highpoints of the event.

Idegwu Day celebration 2024 was judged the most colourful Idegwu Day in the history of Achina.

The idea of isi-Agu uniform for both Achina citizens in Diaspora, ATU branches etc, was ground breaking.

"Yes, the cultural march-pass according to ATU branches remains unbeatable protocol."

Discover how Idegwu Day Festival 2024 was celebrated on the 31st of December at Amaiyi field, organized by the Idegwu Day Planning Committee led by Mr Alphonsus Ahanna Ejidike, under the distinguished Achina Town Union leadership of Hon Tony Ezenwaka, NPOM.

Achina ancient masquerades appeared; including Idegwu, Ijere etc, with some entertaining Achina native cultural dance groups that appears in a season attended.
