I spent hours today creating zaps.

One way to organise workflows and work smarter is through automations.

I connected a spreadsheet and created a filter, so that if a new record is created in the spreadsheet and it has it's status as pending, it should create a record in Google Contact.

And the second zap is when a record is created in Google Contact, a record should be created in a table in Airtable.

Then I added a lookup in a spreadsheet to mark the status as contacted and updated it in a spreadsheet.

Hours well spent😊

I am enjoying this journey, although it's tasking.

Everyone must not be me but...

There is this client I have been supporting for two years now.

We got very close that she knows my husband and kids and I also know about her kids and husband.

We became more like family friends ☺️

When we started, the contract was for 20hrs every week for $140 every week.

Some weeks, she did give me bonuses because business was moving well.

She later increased my pay to $160 every week.

But getting to one year now, her business hit the rock and she has been struggling to cope.

I opted that she stops paying me while I still render my services to her pending when things pick up properly again but she refused.

She said that she would rather increase my rate than stop.

Some weeks she doesn't meet up with my payment but I don't complain.

There are some months that she doesn't even pay me.

But I pray for her business all the time.

I am sure things are changing for her soon.

So, what I did was to take up other clients and this made me not to pay attention to her payments.

She sent me a very emotional message yesterday and I am fulfilled standing by her.

Even as a freelancer, see your clients (good) as humans too.

It is not all about money but the relationship you build with them matters a lot too.

Remember they are humans too.

Note the good clients that need this kind of favour not the mean ones.

I undercharged for years.

I started adjusting my rates, boundaries and mindset.

Sometimes others see what we ignore in ourselves.
