One Thing I’ve Learned About Christianity
One thing I’ve truly learned in my Christian walk is that many people are too focused on positions in the church. If you really want to know the true character of some church members, just try joining any unit or department — whether it’s ushering, the choir, media, or even the cleaning team. That’s when you’ll begin to see people's real nature.
You’ll find individuals fighting tirelessly for small titles, as if that’s what will get them into heaven. Some act like they’re more spiritual than everyone else, or as though the church can’t function without them. If you're not careful, their attitude can make you question your own reason for attending church.
The truth is, if your goal for coming to church is truly to seek God, you’ll need a strong heart. That mindset is what will keep you grounded. Because if you’re going to church because of people, you’ll end up deeply disappointed — possibly to the point of walking away. But when your focus remains on God, you’ll learn to overlook many of the flaws you see in people.
Christianity is not an easy journey. It comes with many challenges that will test your patience, your humility, your faith, and even your ability to love others. But if you hold on to God, you’ll eventually realize that these challenges are part of the growth process. The ultimate goal is not to please men or chase titles, but to grow in Christ and make heaven in the end.
