THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Episode 5: The Truth Written in Blood

The deafening sound of the gunshot echoed through the forest.
BANG!
Bella's scream pierced the air.
Everything seemed to stop.
The birds flew from the trees, and for a few terrifying seconds, no one moved.
Then...
Someone collapsed.
It wasn't Adrian.
It wasn't Damien.
It was Thomas.
"Father!" Bella cried, rushing toward him.
Thomas fell to his knees, clutching his left shoulder as blood soaked through his shirt.
"It... it's just my shoulder," he groaned through gritted teeth.
Bella quickly tore a piece of her dress and pressed it against the wound.
"Stay with me! You're going to be okay!"
Adrian immediately drew a pistol from beneath his coat and looked around.
"Show yourself!" he shouted.
Silence.
Then another shot rang out.
BANG!
Adrian grabbed Bella and pulled her to the ground just as the bullet whizzed past her head and struck a tree behind them.
Bella's face turned pale.
"Someone is trying to kill us!"
Damien remained standing, completely calm.
A wicked smile spread across his face.
"They've arrived."
Adrian's eyes narrowed.
"You brought them here."
"I never travel alone, little brother."
From the surrounding trees, nearly twenty armed men emerged, all dressed in black with their faces covered.
Within seconds, Adrian, Bella, Ethan, and Thomas were surrounded.
The leader of the armed men stepped forward.
He removed his mask, revealing a long scar across his face.
"Welcome home, Mr. Blackwood."
Damien smiled.
"Good to see you again, Marcus."
Bella looked at Adrian.
"Who is he?"
Adrian answered without taking his eyes off Marcus.
"He used to be my father's chief bodyguard."
Marcus laughed.
"Used to be."
"Now I work for the man who deserves the Blackwood empire."
Damien folded his arms proudly.
"The rightful heir."
Bella frowned.
"I don't understand."
Damien's smile disappeared.
"Then perhaps it's time someone told you the real story."
Twenty-two years earlier...
The Blackwood family had been one of the wealthiest families in the country.
Adrian's father, Edward Blackwood, owned vast estates, businesses, and priceless treasures.
But there was one problem.
Edward had two sons.
Damien, born to his first wife.
And Adrian, born after Edward remarried.
Although Damien was older, Edward believed Adrian possessed the kindness and wisdom needed to inherit the family empire.
One evening, Edward gathered the family for dinner.
"I've made my decision."
Everyone listened carefully.
"When I retire..."
"The Blackwood estate will belong to Adrian."
Damien's face turned white.
"What?"
"You heard me."
"I've worked for this family my entire life!"
Edward remained calm.
"You have intelligence."
"But not compassion."
Damien slammed his fist onto the table.
"You'll regret this."
That night...
Someone set the mansion on fire.
Bella listened in horror.
"So... you were telling the truth."
Adrian nodded sadly.
"I started the fire."
Bella stared at him in disbelief.
"Why?"
"Because Damien locked our parents inside the burning house."
Bella gasped.
"I heard them screaming."
"I couldn't reach them."
"So I set another fire in the west wing."
Bella looked confused.
"What?"
"I hoped the servants would notice the smoke and rescue them."
Tears filled Adrian's eyes.
"But the flames spread too quickly."
"My parents died..."
"And everyone blamed me."
Bella covered her mouth.
"Oh my God..."
Damien clapped sarcastically.
"What a touching story."
He looked at Bella.
"Did he also tell you what happened next?"
Bella slowly shook her head.
Damien's smile returned.
"He chained me beneath Blackwood Manor."
"For twenty years."
Adrian spoke quietly.
"You murdered our parents."
"I protected the world from you."
Damien burst into laughter.
"No..."
"You protected your inheritance."
Bella didn't know who to believe anymore.
Every version of the story sounded believable.
One brother claimed he was protecting the family.
The other claimed he had been betrayed.
Then something caught Bella's attention.
Thomas, despite his injury, was staring at Damien in fear.
Not anger.
Fear.
"Father..." Bella whispered.
"You know something."
Thomas looked away.
"No..."
"You recognize him."
Thomas's lips trembled.
Damien smiled.
"I wondered how long it would take."
Bella grabbed her father's hand.
"What is he talking about?"
Thomas remained silent.
"Tell me!"
Finally, he looked into Bella's eyes.
"There was... someone else in the mansion that night."
Adrian frowned.
"What?"
Thomas nodded.
"I was there."
Everyone froze.
Bella couldn't believe what she had just heard.
"You were there?"
Thomas closed his eyes.
"I worked as a young gardener at Blackwood Manor."
Adrian stared at him in shock.
"You never told me."
"I was afraid."
Damien stepped closer.
"Go on, Thomas."
"Tell them what you saw."
Thomas's hands began to shake.
"I saw..."
Before he could finish—
BANG!
A third gunshot echoed through the forest.
This time, the bullet struck Thomas squarely in the chest.
Bella screamed.
"NO!"
Thomas collapsed into her arms.
Blood spread rapidly across his shirt.
His breathing became shallow.
Bella cried uncontrollably.
"Father! Stay with me!"
Thomas weakly grabbed her hand.
With his final strength, he whispered four chilling words into her ear...
"Don't trust... either brother..."
His hand slipped from hers.
His eyes closed.
Bella froze.
Tears streamed down her face as she realized what had happened.
Her father was dead.
She slowly lifted her tear-filled eyes toward Adrian...
Then toward Damien.
If her father's dying words were true...
Then neither of them was telling the whole truth.
And somewhere in the shadows...
The real mastermind was still waiting.
To Be Continued...
Who killed Thomas before he could reveal the truth? Why did he warn Bella not to trust either Adrian or Damien? Could there be a third person behind the tragedy at Blackwood Manor?

THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Episode 4: The Secret Hidden Behind the Mask

The cold wind howled through Blackwood Forest as Adrian Blackwood—the man the villagers called the Beast—rode ahead on his black horse. Bella struggled to keep up on a smaller horse beside Ethan, whose sharp eyes never stopped scanning the trees.
The forest felt different.
Too quiet.
Not a single bird sang.
Even the leaves seemed afraid to move.
Bella tightened her grip on the reins.
"Where are we going?" she asked.
Adrian didn't look back.
"To find your father."
"And the man who escaped with him."
Bella hesitated.
"You still haven't told me who he is."
Adrian finally slowed his horse.
His blue eyes met hers for a brief moment.
"His name is Damien Blackwood."
Bella waited.
"He is my elder brother."
Her eyes widened.
"Your... brother?"
Adrian nodded slowly.
"Twenty years ago, everyone believed Damien died in the fire that destroyed our family."
"But he didn't."
"He survived."
Bella frowned.
"Then why was he locked in your dungeon?"
Adrian's face hardened.
"Because after the fire... he became someone I no longer recognized."
As they rode deeper into the forest, Bella couldn't stop thinking about what she had heard.
If Damien was Adrian's brother, why had Adrian imprisoned him for twenty years?
Had the villagers been wrong all along?
Or was Adrian hiding something much darker?
Her thoughts were interrupted when Ethan suddenly raised his hand.
"Master..."
Everyone stopped.
Fresh footprints covered the muddy ground.
Two different sets.
"They came this way," Ethan said quietly.
Adrian climbed down from his horse and examined the tracks.
"One belongs to Thomas."
Bella's heart skipped.
"My father..."
"But the other..."
He stared at the unusually deep footprints.
"...belongs to Damien."
Bella noticed something strange.
The second footprints looked unusually large.
Almost as if the person walking was far heavier than an ordinary man.
Before she could ask about it...
A loud scream echoed through the forest.
It came from somewhere ahead.
Bella recognized the voice immediately.
"Father!"
Without thinking, she jumped off her horse and ran.
"Bella!" Adrian shouted.
"Stop!"
But she was already disappearing between the trees.
Bella finally reached a small clearing.
Her father lay on the ground, struggling to breathe.
She rushed to him.
"Father!"
Thomas grabbed her arm.
His face was pale with fear.
"Run..."
Bella frowned.
"What happened?"
"You must leave..."
"It's not safe."
"Father, who hurt you?"
Before he could answer...
A slow clap echoed behind them.
Clap...
Clap...
Clap...
Bella turned around.
A tall man stepped out from the shadows.
He wore a long black coat, and his silver hair fell over his shoulders.
His smile was calm...
Too calm.
"So..."
He looked at Bella with amusement.
"This must be the girl who captured my little brother's heart."
Bella stepped protectively in front of her father.
"Who are you?"
The man bowed dramatically.
"Damien Blackwood."
Bella's blood ran cold.
"You..."
"...you're Adrian's brother."
Damien smiled.
"Half-brother."
"And unlike Adrian..."
"I don't hide behind a mask."
His piercing green eyes settled on Bella.
"You're even more beautiful than I imagined."
Bella felt uneasy.
"There was sadness in his smile.
Not the sadness of someone who had suffered.
The sadness of someone who enjoyed making others suffer.
Within seconds, Adrian and Ethan burst into the clearing.
The moment Adrian saw Damien...
He froze.
For years he had imagined this day.
Yet now that it had come...
He wasn't ready.
Damien chuckled.
"Little brother."
"You've gotten old."
Adrian's voice was icy.
"You should never have escaped."
Damien laughed loudly.
"You always were so dramatic."
Bella looked from one brother to the other.
Despite their different expressions...
They looked remarkably alike.
The same sharp features.
The same height.
Only their eyes were different.
Adrian's carried pain.
Damien's carried darkness.
Thomas slowly stood.
"Bella..."
"We have to leave."
Bella shook her head.
"I'm not leaving without knowing the truth."
Damien smiled.
"Truth?"
He looked toward Adrian.
"Should I tell her?"
"Or will you?"
Adrian remained silent.
Damien laughed again.
"I knew it."
"You've been lying to her."
Bella stared at Adrian.
"Lying?"
Damien took a few slow steps forward.
"Did Adrian tell you who started the fire?"
Bella looked at Adrian.
He said nothing.
Damien's smile grew wider.
"I didn't think so."
"He let the whole village believe I was the villain."
"Poor Adrian..."
"So desperate to protect his precious reputation."
Bella whispered,
"What are you talking about?"
Damien looked directly into her eyes.
"The fire that destroyed Blackwood Manor twenty years ago..."
"...was started by Adrian."
Bella's heart stopped.
She slowly turned toward Adrian.
His silence frightened her more than the accusation itself.
"Tell me he's lying," she whispered.
Adrian closed his eyes.
When he finally spoke...
His voice was filled with regret.
"I did start the fire..."
Bella's world shattered.
Before she could speak again, Adrian added quietly,
"...but not for the reason you think."
Just then—
BANG!
A gunshot echoed through the forest.
Bella screamed.
Someone had been shot.
But who?
To Be Continued...
Who was hit by the bullet? Is Damien telling the truth, or is he manipulating Bella? And what really happened during the fire twenty years ago?

THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Episode 3: The Prisoner Who Never Died
The dining hall fell into complete silence.
Bella could hardly breathe.
"My father escaped?" she asked, hope flickering in her eyes.
The frightened servant nodded.
"Yes, Miss Bella... but the guards couldn't find him anywhere on the estate."
Bella smiled for the first time since arriving at Blackwood Manor.
"Thank God..."
But her smile disappeared when she noticed the Beast wasn't relieved.
He looked disturbed.
No...
He looked terrified.
"What do you mean another prison cell was opened?" he asked the servant, his voice calm but dangerous.
"The underground cell, Master."
"The one no one is allowed to enter."
The Beast's jaw tightened.
"Who was guarding it?"
The servant lowered his head.
"They're all unconscious."
"Unconscious?"
"They were attacked."
The Beast suddenly pushed back his chair and strode toward the door.
"Ethan!"
Within seconds, a tall man dressed in black leather entered the hall. He carried a sword at his waist, and his face bore a long scar across one cheek.
"Yes, Master."
"Seal every gate."
"Nobody enters."
"Nobody leaves."
"And find the escaped prisoner before sunset."
Ethan bowed.
"It will be done."
Bella quickly stepped forward.
"What about my father?"
The Beast looked at her.
"If he's innocent, he'll be safe."
"You promised I could see him!"
"I also promised to protect everyone in this house."
"From who?"
The Beast didn't answer.
He simply walked away.
Bella couldn't stop thinking about what had happened.
If her father had escaped, why wasn't the Beast furious?
Instead...
He seemed worried about the other prisoner.
Who could possibly frighten a man everyone else called a monster?
Determined to find answers, Bella slipped out of her room later that afternoon.
The mansion was unusually quiet.
Servants hurried through the corridors whispering nervously.
Guards stood at every entrance with weapons drawn.
Something terrible was happening.
Bella followed a narrow staircase leading toward the basement.
The deeper she went, the colder the air became.
The walls changed from polished marble to rough stone.
Water dripped from the ceiling.
The smell of damp earth filled the air.
She finally reached a massive iron door.
It stood slightly open.
Bella hesitated before stepping inside.
The underground prison was unlike anything she had imagined.
Rows of empty cells stretched into the darkness.
Heavy chains hung from the walls.
Some were stained with rust...
Others with something much darker.
She shivered.
"Who could live in a place like this?"
Then she noticed it.
One cell looked different.
Its door had been ripped completely off its hinges.
Not unlocked.
Destroyed.
Bella knelt beside the broken lock.
The thick iron bars were bent outward.
It looked as if someone with incredible strength had forced their way out.
Her eyes widened.
"No human could do this..."
A deep voice echoed behind her.
"You're right."
Bella spun around.
The Beast stood at the entrance.
He looked more exhausted than angry.
"I told you this place was forbidden."
Bella swallowed nervously.
"I'm sorry."
"But I needed answers."
The Beast slowly walked into the ruined cell.
He stared silently at the broken chains lying on the floor.
"They finally broke..."
Bella frowned.
"Who was kept here?"
The Beast closed his eyes.
"A ghost from my past."
"What does that mean?"
He opened his eyes again.
"It means someone who should have stayed buried."
Bella stared at him.
"Was he a criminal?"
The Beast laughed bitterly.
"No."
"He was once my family."
Just then, Ethan rushed downstairs.
"Master!"
The Beast turned immediately.
"What is it?"
"We found one of the guards."
"Is he alive?"
"Barely."
"What did he say?"
Ethan hesitated.
"He only repeated one sentence."
"What sentence?"
Ethan looked uneasy.
"He said..."
"...'The Devil has come home.'"
Bella felt a chill race down her spine.
The Beast remained expressionless.
Almost as if he had expected those exact words.
"Prepare the horses," he ordered.
"We're leaving."
Bella stepped forward.
"I'm coming too."
"No."
"You don't even know where you're going."
"I know enough."
"This concerns me now."
The Beast looked into her determined eyes.
For a moment...
He saw something he hadn't seen in years.
Someone who refused to abandon him.
Finally, he sighed.
"Stay close."
"And whatever happens..."
"...don't trust anyone."
Meanwhile...
Several miles away...
Thomas Hart stumbled through the forest.
His clothes were torn.
His hands were bleeding.
He had escaped.
But he wasn't alone.
A tall man walked beside him.
He wore a long black cloak that covered his face.
Thomas looked terrified.
"I've helped you escape."
"You promised to let me go."
The stranger smiled.
"I did."
"But first..."
"We have unfinished business."
He slowly removed his hood.
Thomas gasped.
"It can't be..."
"I thought you were dead!"
The stranger laughed.
"That's exactly what Adrian wanted everyone to believe."
His smile widened.
"But the dead..."
"...have a way of returning."
Far away, a raven flew over Blackwood Manor as storm clouds gathered once again.
A war that had been buried for twenty years.....was about to begin.
To Be Continued...
Who is the mysterious man who escaped the dungeon? Why does everyone believe he died twenty years ago? And can Bella trust the Beast, or is there another shocking truth waiting to be revealed?
