ZAMFARA: Bandits Cripple Freedom of Movement
In Zamfara State, bandits have taken control of major roads, making travel extremely dangerous. Routes like Mayanchi-Gumi, Magami-Dansadau, Kauran Namoda-Shinkafi, and others now require armed escorts and careful planning.
Residents across 13 local governments say moving between villages is life-threatening. Many receive threats demanding ransom or face death. Some communities have resorted to fasting, praying for safety.
Despite government assurances, the killings and kidnappings continue unchecked.
