HRH Anabs Sara-Igbe has accused Wike of trying to maintain control over Rivers State resources, alleging that after losing political control of his structure, he used the judiciary to stop the local government election and that the crisis eventually led to a state of emergency.

He said Wike ruled Rivers State like a “Pharaoh” and a demigod while in office, alleging that he acted with absolute power and behaved as if there was no government above him.

He questioned Wike’s projects while in office, saying most of the flyovers were concentrated in Obio/Akpor and asking why there were no major projects spread across other communities. He also alleged that the cost of the flyovers was never properly made public.

Sara-Igbe further alleged that Rivers State’s declared internally generated revenue jumped from about ₦12 billion during Wike’s tenure to about ₦22 billion shortly after he left office, questioning what caused the increase despite no new investments.

“Where are you going with all this money? You bought Port Harcourt, you are acquiring properties in Abuja and grabbing land,” he alleged.

He added that many Rivers people are unhappy, alleging that Wike has amassed wealth and invested in businesses such as supermarkets, hotels, hospitals and other ventures.

“Wike is the problem we have in Rivers State,” Sara-Igbe declared.

Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has reacted angrily after being charged ₦203,500 for airport parking for 4 days, describing the experience as shocking and frustrating.

He said he expected to pay about ₦40,000–₦50,000, but was stunned by the final bill.

It pained me die… I thought I would just pay 40–50k for parking space, but they collected ₦203,500 for 4 days,” he said.

He added that the situation left him stranded and confused, saying it affected his food money and travel plans.

They just took my food money… I stood there and I didn’t know what to do. This is a serious blow to me,” he said.

In his frustration over the high cost of living in Nigeria, he made strong remarks about President Bola Tinubu, saying: “E no go better for Tinubu.

He also added: “Tinubu will be forgotten before he even enters ground,” as he continued to criticize how expensive life has become in the country.

I am sad, very, very sad. The Commissioner of Police in Osun is not cooperating. That is why we keep having problems. Other security agencies are trying, but him in particular is not trying. I don't know what his problem is, Gov. Adeleke said.

The governor revealed that he was just informed of a shootout involving thugs, alleging that APC thugs came out and started shooting people, describing it as unacceptable.

He urged his supporters to remain calm, saying he does not want a state of emergency or any chaos in Osun.

"I am trying my best to make sure Osun is calm and there is no problem, but maybe I am pushing and they keep pushing, killing people," he said.

Islamic cleric Sheikh Gumi has urged Nigerians not to adopt what he described as the mindset of criminals, warning against ethnic profiling, religious bigotry, and regional chauvinism.

According to Gumi, Nigerians should not condemn entire ethnic or religious groups because of the actions of a few individuals. He stressed that ethnic profiling and religious hatred are dangerous and only deepen divisions in the country.

The cleric recalled that when armed robbery and banditry were thriving in parts of Southern Nigeria, Northerners did not paint every Southerner as a criminal. He said Nigerians must learn from that example instead of allowing fear and anger to fuel stereotypes.

Gumi also expressed concern that many citizens remain vulnerable to manipulation, warning that external interests bent on balkanising Nigeria could take advantage of ethnic and religious tensions. He called for calm heads and greater efforts to educate Nigerians on the dangers of division.

Nigeria Police have issued a tough warning to anyone using social media to threaten, cause panic, or display criminal activities, saying they will not be spared.

According to them, anyone who goes online or into the public space to show “effrontery” or the capability to create fear will be traced, chased, and arrested without delay.

They also explained the condition of suspects in custody, describing their detention facility as a “VIP cell” with air conditioning, television, and access to news and football. They insisted that suspects are not being unlawfully detained but are kept under proper and secure conditions while investigations continue.

The authorities reaffirmed their earlier promise, stressing that law enforcement will continue to go after offenders wherever they are until they are arrested and brought to justice.
