JOSEPH THE DUPE
Church, can I talk to somebody today?
Can I talk to somebody who has ever been misunderstood… who has ever been betrayed… who has ever been called a fool for trusting people too much?
That was Joseph… Joseph the dupe!
He was the boy with dreams, the boy with a coat of many colors, the boy who saw the stars bowing before him… but instead of applause, what did he get? Rejection! Mockery! A pit! Sold for silver coins by his own blood brothers.
Church, doesn’t life do that sometimes? You trust the ones closest to you—and they dupe you. You love them with all your heart—and they stab you with betrayal. Somebody shout, “But God!”
Joseph was duped by his brothers, duped by Potiphar’s wife, duped by the butler who forgot him in prison. Everywhere he turned, it looked like people were making a fool of him.
But hear me: every dupe was a divine direction!
Every setback was a setup for a comeback!
Every betrayal was a step closer to the throne!
The brothers thought they duped him—but they carried him to destiny.
Potiphar’s wife thought she duped him—but her lie became his ladder to the palace.
The butler thought he duped him—but his forgetfulness prepared the stage for Joseph’s sudden remembrance!
Child of God, maybe they called you naïve… maybe they laughed and said you’re a dupe… but I came to prophesy: the dupe today will be the deliverer tomorrow!
When Joseph finally stood before Pharaoh, when he finally wore the royal ring, when the crown was placed on his head, he could look back and say—“You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good!”
So don’t despise your season of being “Joseph the Dupe.”
Because sooner than you think, they will call you Joseph the Deliverer!
Can I get an Amen in the house?
