I was at Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani, Enugu State, earlier today following the attack that claimed four lives.

This dastardly act saddens me greatly. It is malicious and unacceptable to us as a state, and we shall do all we can to identify, track, capture the culprits, and bring them to justice.

Our primary purpose as government is to guarantee the security and the welfare of Ndi Enugu, and that we must do. We do not want our people to live in fear. Therefore, we will continue to deploy everything within our powers to ensure that they are protected.

To my dear people of the Nimbo, I deeply empathise with you. I have noted your recommendations and requests, including the need for representation in government and strengthening of local security resources. These will be addressed as promised.

I assure you that we will not abandon you. Our government will cater for the survivors and families of the victims of this attack. We shall award scholarships to the children of the victims and offer employment opportunities to their family members in need of jobs.

But more importantly, let it be known that we will never have to go through this again. Enough is enough.

.....Peter Mbah.
Governor, Enugu State.

*EJUONA MBU WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM*

Incredible moments of sheer joy and empowerment unfolded as *Mr Peter Chinasa Ugwu (Sunday Nwa Sunday)* continues his awe-inspiring mission to uplift and support Ejuona women financially. With an astonishing total amount of #1,500,000 generously distributed among a select 50 Ejuona women, this have been done every quarter of the year since 2023.

This remarkable philanthropist is changing lives in ways that defy imagination.
Remember that he launched a groundbreaking poverty alleviation scheme, which involves granting a monthly stipend of #5,000 to 30 elderly women from Ejuona Mbu, as well as offering business/farming grants of #30,000 to 50 deserving women every quarter of the year.

On 16th April 2024, in a truly electrifying event at Central School Mbu-Amon, the hearts of 50 women were uplifted as they were presented with another badge of business/farming grants of #30,000 each. This financial injection has the potential to ignite their businesses, propelling them to unimaginable heights.

The event was graced with the presence of *Ven. Okwuchukwu Ayogu* (Archdeacon, St. Mary's Ang. Church Mbu) a beacon of inspiration, He took to the stage, delivering a powerful message that resonated deeply. He implored these resilient women to stand unwavering in the face of the current economic hardship plaguing the country, and urged them to steer their children away from the pitfalls of financial fraud and immoral means of making money.

The Empowerment Program Coordinator and Secretary, Ejuona Progressive Alliance (EPA) *Hon. Ezembu Philip Nnabuike* enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the grant as a seed of faith that will multiply in abundance. He urged the women to continue to pray for the development of Ejuona, their sons and daughters. He also used the opportunity to commiserate with the women over the death of one of their leaders, Mrs. Duhu Christiana while praying God to grant her soul eternal rest.

Also in attendance at event was *Comr. Okoh Josiah Uchenna. The author of the book *'Why we are Poor'* a prolific writer and inspiring young man who accompanied Hon. Ezembu to the program.

As the event drew to a close, an overwhelming sense of euphoria permeated the air, leaving no soul untouched by infectious jubilation. The women couldn't contain their radiant smiles, embracing one another with hearts brimming with gratitude. In perfect harmony, they danced together, their every movement a testament to their new found strength and unity.

This remarkable gathering was truly a sight to behold, leaving everyone with a profound sense of hope and inspiration. The impact of Peter Chinasa UGWU's women empowerment program is undeniable, creating a ripple effect that is undoubtedly transforming the lives of countless individuals.

May God bless the Benefactor and all the women.
