Alleged co***ne trafficking: Court extends KC Luxury’s detention by 30 days

The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) a 30-day extension of the detention of social media influencer and businessman, Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, over his alleged involvement in a 184.5-kilogramme co***ne seizure.

Justice Akintayo Aluko granted the request on August 20, following an application by the NDLEA for additional time to investigate Kazeem’s alleged involvement in the drug trafficking case.

The application was filed a day after Kazeem was taken into custody, according to a certified true copy of the enrolled order seen by Vanguard on Thursday.

The court also granted an interim order preserving funds in Kazeem’s Providus Bank account number 4005905755 and other accounts linked to his Bank Verification Number, BVN.

The funds are to remain preserved pending the conclusion of the investigation and/or prosecution.

The judge adjourned the matter until September 17, 2026, for the NDLEA to report on the progress of its investigation.

The court stated in the enrolment order: “That this case is adjourned to the 17th day of September, 2026 for report of investigation.”

Kazeem’s arrest followed the NDLEA’s seizure of 184.5 kilogrammes of co***ne on August 3 at a DHL facility within the premises of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company, NAHCO, in Ikeja, Lagos.

The agency valued the consignment at about N39 billion and described it as its largest co***ne interception through a courier company in Nigeria.

According to the NDLEA, its operatives and investigators traced the shipment to an international trafficking network allegedly moving co***ne from South America through Nigeria to the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia.

The agency identified Kazeem as the alleged Nigerian “arrowhead” of the network, saying he was arrested on August 13 at the boarding gate of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos,

Chief Prophet Edwin Onyebuchi Okeke (Eddy Nawgu), who is also popularly known as Alụsị n' eje ụka and Ọkara mmadụ, Ọkara mmụọ was a Nigerian self-styled prophet, religious figure, sorcerer, and philanthropist.

Born in 1957 in Nawgu, a community located in Dunukofia L.G.A of Anambra state, Nigeria.

Eddy started his self-styled ministry work at the young age of 29. He claimed he had been touched by the Biblical God and was given the ability to “see”, “perceive” and heal what the ordinary human eye or other senses could not detect.

In 1985, shortly after Eddy began his ministerial work, he built his ministry and named it ‘Anioma Healing Centre’. He stated that the reason for creating the ‘Anioma Healing Centre’ was to provide solutions, healing and restore hope to people. But that wasn’t exactly the case. After a few years, people started speaking of his illicit activities.

In the early 90s, Prophet Eddy became so powerful and influential. He attracted high-profile business billionaires, government officials, high-class musicians, and average Onitsha, Port Harcourt, Aba and Lagos businessmen who trooped into his ministry. He commanded multitudes of men, women and youths to the extent that he became the address of his community, and was nicknamed “Prophet Eddy Na Nawgu”.

Allegedly, some worshippers in one of his services were told to bless two men the prophet had prayed for previously for breakthrough. It later turned out that the duo had successfully transported hard drugs to Europe without being caught

The ₦100 Inside the New Mortar 🤔😂

A man told me something today that honestly left me confused.

He said he went to buy a new mortar for his customer. After paying for it, the woman selling it told him to put a small amount of money inside the mortar. He ignored her, thinking it was just one of those things people say.

But as he got to where he wanted to enter a Keke, almost everyone around him started saying the same thing:

“Put money inside!”

He still didn’t understand what was going on until the Keke driver told him, “If you no put money inside, you no go enter.” 😂

At that point, he had no choice. He put ₦100 inside the mortar and entered the Keke.

Now, here is where my own questions begin. 🤔

What exactly is the meaning of putting money inside a new mortar before taking it home.

Honestly, this is my first time hearing about it. 😂

People who know this tradition, abeg, educate us.

Is it tradition or superstition?
Is it Igbo-only or practiced by other tribes too?
And most importantly, what happens to the ₦100 when you finally get home? 😂
