Getting a job as a nursing mother can be very difficult... story time 😊
While I was still pregnant, as time went on, I got tired of sitting at home. You know, as a newly married woman who had just relocated to another state to join her husband, my husband and I were still making plans and arrangements about what I could do.
Starting a business as a pregnant woman wasn't exactly the best idea at the time, my makeup and beauty skills were there too,but my condition gave it so many limitations and as for getting a job, we kept making enquiries and looking for opportunities.
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't lacking anything. As far as the general needs of the home and my personal needs were concerned, my husband was there to provide. But no oo 😌 I was already tired of sitting at home every single day.
I would constantly nag my husband, telling him, "I just want to have my own source of income, no matter how little."
Then one day, I walked past a school and saw a notice on their board saying they were looking for a teacher.
Normally, I don't like teaching. In fact, I dislike it to the core 😔 But at that point, I was desperate. So the next day, I took my CV there. They collected it, and I went home to sleep.
They never called me oo. 😂
And honestly, the only reason I could think of was that they saw I was heavily pregnant, coupled with the fact that there was a difference in our tribes. So I just relaxed and hoped another opportunity would come.
Content creation wasn't even on my mind then. I was pregnant, and my husband and I weren't comfortable with me showing myself online, so I was just there.
Press my phone. Get tired. Sleep. Eat. Wake up. Repeat.
Boredom nearly kpaid me! 😭😂
You needed to see the joy on my face every evening when my husband returned from work. 😁
If you've always been the type who likes to hustle and make your own money, you will understand the frustration that comes with sitting at home and doing nothing.
Then fast-forward to when I finally gave birth. I had my baby in January, and by February, I started my content creation journey.
You needed to see the energy I had back then! 😊Not now that my AI content doesn't even give me breathing space anymore.
But do you know what?
My job hunt still didn't stop.
My baby was barely three months old when I took her along with me to a job interview...
I’ll be back. 🚶😉
But before then, if you are a nursing mother, and you find yourself in this kind of situation, you should already know where this story is heading. 👀
