I’m a 34-year-old banker, and my wedding is supposed to hold this December 2025. But just a few days ago, I found out something that shattered my world — my fiancé is an a®med r∆bb@. 😭
Here’s how it all started…
There’s a big building materials shop opposite the bank where I work. That’s how I met him. Funny enough, you’d never guess he owns the place — he’s quiet, humble, and reserved. In the last five years, our bank has been robbed four times. None of us ever suspected anything. I met Michael in December 2023. I was at a small restaurant near my office my usual lunch spot when he walked in. He asked politely if he could join my table since I was sitting alone. I said no problem.
After we ate, he introduced himself and said he owned the building materials shop opposite my workplace. I asked how he knew where I worked, and he smiled, saying he often saw me from afar. Then, to my surprise, he told the waitress to calculate the cost of one plate of food (with turkey or chicken) for 30 days — including the one we just ate. He paid for all of them at once and said, “If she ever comes here to eat, just serve her, it’s already paid.”
I was shocked. I tried to stop him, but he insisted. That was how it all began.
He asked for my number, and we started talking. Soon after, we began dating. One thing I noticed was strange — he wasn’t on any social media platform except WhatsApp and Twitter. When I asked why, he said he valued his privacy and warned me never to post his pictures online. It felt odd, but I respected his choice. When I asked if he was married or seeing someone else, he swore he wasn’t. Fast forward to 2024 — our bank was robbed again, and this time it was terrible. Many were injured, but strangely, no one touched me. That was when I started noticing things.
Michael owned two big shops, had 15 workers, and claimed to be very busy, yet he was always home. He had seven phones. When I asked why, he said they were for business. Sometimes, he would step outside to take calls, and he’d even put the phone on loudspeaker first to prove it was a man calling — never a woman.
Then one day, in February this year, I went to his apartment and found the whole place messy. I decided to clean up. Under the bed, I found something that froze my blood — a bullet case, with bullets inside. I didn’t confront him immediately. Instead, I contacted a close friend who’s a computer expert to help me clone his phone. When I went through it, I didn’t see any chats with women — but there were countless coded messages with men. From the conversations, it was clear — they weren’t talking about business. Michael is very rich, but he doesn’t own a house. He pays 5 million for a two-bedroom apartment. When I asked why not build his own, he said he didn’t want to stay in Nigeria — that after our wedding, we’d relocate abroad. He even started processing our visas.
Just recently, I found out the shocking truth — he’s the second-in-command of a r∆bbri gang. 😭 Now, I’m confused and terrified. I can’t tell my parents yet because I don’t even know how they’ll react. I’m scared to confront him — what if he finds out how I discovered the truth? I only confided in my cousin, who’s also my best friend, but she told me to “focus on love and forget what he does.”
But how can I?
My biggest fear is our future — what if our children inherit his kind of life? I’ve thought of reporting to the authorities, but I’m scared. What if his gang bribes their way out and comes after me? I feel trapped. Please, if you were in my situation, what would you do?
I don’t know who to trust or where to turn. 💔
