The gym is not meant for just you

It's the 32 annual celebration of National senior ( elderly) health and fitness day.

Seniors health and fitness day is celebrated every last Wednesday of the month of May and it happens to be today this year.

This year's theme is " Flip the Script on Aging"

we are encouraged to challenge the stereotypes and narratives that comes with aging.

Alot of persons are scared to get old
because they don't want to be weak, always sick, lonely and over dependant.

But here's the thing: while it's great to see young people prioritizing their health and wellness - hitting the gym and fueling their bodies with essential vitamins - let's not forget our seniors!

They deserve our love, care, and support as they age.

Stop waiting for the prescription of the doctors before you

1. Take them out for exercise
walk them round the house or even down the street for some fresh air make them dance

2. Give them fruit salad too it's not for just you and also food that has fiber for easy digestion

3. They have different nutritional needs
limit or avoid giving them food with high salt or sugar,sugary drinks , processed meat and frozen meals

4. Talk to them,gist them and keep them updated on things happening

5. Help them visit the hospital regularly don't wait for a complaint.

As we wrap up this year's National Senior Health & Fitness Day, I'm reminded of the importance of prioritizing senior health and wellness.

I urge all stakeholders – health workers, fitness experts, and community leaders – to continue promoting this cause.

Let's work towards making next year's celebration even bigger and better! Join us in this mission, and together, let's create a healthier, happier community for all elderly.

Join us on this journey and try to reach out to one elderly person,call your grandparents if they Far and talk to them,it helps improve their Cognitive skills and loss of memory... talking is a form of exercise too.
