The approach and focus of a man who has got limited or few time to execute a task is different from that of a man who has got the luxury of time.

When time is not on your side, you narrow down on the things you focus on, you're not encumbered with unprofitable activities, hangouts, laxity because you've got a lot to do.

Time is your greatest asset.

I don't know how it happened but I know I took an unintentional break.

Fighting to gain momentum and I remember the saying "Consistency is the rule of the game!"

You don't stop, keep hitting hard until the nut is cracked. The tree must be well tended to yield fruits.

It's easy to lose track in the race, but align as soon as you realize you swerved.

The destination is more glorious than the take off point, and so each step of the transition counts.

Which toddler successfully walked without a fall?

When you err or fail during your growth process, quickly get up! Forgive yourself, restrategize, then keep growing beyond that fall.

On a good day, I'd wake up from a 3-feet high bed, give pearl a good morning kiss on the cheek.

Get off from the bed, properly tie my pyjamas, put on a footwear then walk into my spacious, beautiful, conducive breathtaking Library/Reading room to write.

This Blue App People wants to disgrace me ๐Ÿ˜‚

Please read till end....

Few days ago this blue App prompted a memorable photograph on my wall which was taken sometime around April 2012.

Yes oh, I also did shakara alongside those who bought the trending G-Shock wristwatch that year ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‚

Remarkably for me was the fact that there has been a significant change in different areas of my life.

Starring at this picture few days ago dug up memories of years past.

Memories of the difficult times in the ever busy city of Lagos, when my brother and I would go to a big market known as "Westminster" to carry anything carry-able for shop owners and retailers.

The times we both hustled crazily working at a salt production factory all night with little or no sleep.

The times I started a mini car/okada wash just in front of Dad's shop.

The times I almost got frozen, working the hell out of my life in a fish importing company, and quitted the day I almost froze to dโ‚ฌaฯ€h.

Lot of memories triggered by this picture.

I had to take a pause to wipe the teardrop that escaped my eyes while writing this piece. Hmmm

I guess no one understands your story better than you.

Beyond the memories, is the fact that our times are in God's hands.
In the twinkle of an eye God can transit a man from the dunghill to the palace.

Aren't men supposed to be superheroes? Yes of course!

Superheroes don't cry!

This is how we've groomed bitter, pained, and emotionally drained men who eventually die young!

Dear men,

This is a letter to your brave heart.

The society has erroneously painted a picture for you to live by as one who has got no emotion, even when you're hurt, you just bottle it up and move on.

Be strong for your family they'd say, so they don't perceive you as weak.

You shoulder the responsibility of many, give emotional support where needed, you comfort those who cry, and leave them with a big smile.

Dear men, how do you shed off the accumulated hurts, disappointments, betrayal, and heartbreaks?

Know this today, and set yourself free;

You have no reason to prove your masculinity by bottling up emotions and denying yourself the healing you deserve.

It's fine to feel pain, and also okay to take a time out to cry.

It doesn't portray you as weak but rather strong.

Dear men, you've got emotions too.
Take your preferred space to cry your heart out, then wipe your eyes when you've cried to your satisfaction.
Afterwards, go to the forefront with your cape as a superhero.

This is how you recharge!

I'LL NEVER FORGIVE JANE FOR LEADING ME ON ๐Ÿ’”

A whole me? I feel so pained, and disappointed.

How did I get here?

Don't be quick to judge me, until you've heard my part of the story.

It all started in 2021, when we met at the church's cafeteria, after the close of service.

I still remember the fragrance of her perfume like it was yesterday.....
Smelled masculine with a blend of oud.

One thing led to another, and that was how our friendship began.

We shared good moments, did a couple of things together, read books, studied certain scriptures, we'd chat for hours, sometimes into the late night hour.

Some thought we were siblings, others thought we were dating, because we were seen together.

Her excitement to see me show up whenever we meet was more than enough green light signal for me.

She has feelings for me, so I thought.
I couldn't explain how much I had gotten fond of her.

The good meals I learnt how to prepare just to give her a surprise treat, the few times I secretly hid some money in her purse for her use, and others.

2 years down the line, on a Thursday, i noticed she made a post on Instagram.

Guess what? It was an invitation. Jane's wedding card! ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

It felt like a prank. No! Jane wouldn't do that to me na....

I called her phone immediately to confirm what I had just seen, but it happened to be true.

Jane was getting married to the love of her life. ๐Ÿ’”

What about me? I asked.
I thought we had something special going on between us?
Am i not good enough?

Jane! You can't do this to me, not after all we shared over the years.

Charles, I'm so sorry, she said.
I took you like a friend, you were just so kind, like a brother i never had.

Frank and I has been friends even before I met you.
I'm sorry I didn't mention that to you for once.

I'M SURE THIS SCENARIO KINDA SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU.

This is how people get broken, bruised, and deeply hurt.

Define your association with the opposite gender early enough.

Be careful not to build a skyscraper in your heart with someone when you're not sure the feeling is mutual.

Guard your heart.

Ask questions where necessary.
You never could tell what you'd find.
