Here’s the latest on the matter of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah potentially defecting to the APC:

Latest on the Defection Rumour

No official defection has occurred. As of now, Governor Peter Mbah remains a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), with no formal announcement of joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speculations are rising. The rumor of a potential defection has been gaining traction for weeks. It appears to have originated when the governor skipped a PDP governors’ strategic meeting in Gusau ahead of the party’s national convention in Ibadan (scheduled for November 15–16) .

APC leaders welcome the possibility. Several APC factions in Enugu have signaled openness to Mbah joining their party:

Foundation members of the APC stated they would “whole-heartedly welcome” him while dismissing any objections from figures like the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Uche Nnaji .

The Enugu APC’s Progressive Group emphasized that neither the suspended party chairman, Agballah, nor Minister Nnaji could bar Mbah’s entry. They expressed readiness to support his 2027 reelection if he switches sides .

APC Assembly candidates from Enugu sent a letter urging Mbah to join the party, arguing that his leadership aligns with the federal government’s priorities and that his defection would politically connect the state to the national ruling party .

APC insists defections won’t grant special favours. Minister Uche Nnaji has made it clear that any aspiring defector—even someone as high-profile as governor—would not receive automatic candidacy for 2027. All party hopefuls must go through standard primary elections .

Let's get this straight, corrupt Politicians and their cronies are unanimous in their dislike of Peter Obi.

He stands against everything they hold dear. His presidency will nearly wipe out corruption, meaning their primary source of wealth will be eradicated.

So tell me why any corrupt politician will want such a person at the helms?

When you see political lackeys like Deji Adeyanju and the Reno Omokiri et al spewing, know they are merely working for their masters.

To you ordinary Nigerian from the north, the west, the south and the east, the question you have to answer to yourself is: Do you believe that Peter Obi becoming the President of Nigeria will be to your benefit when compared to the happenstances of today? If your answer is in the affirmative, then thats all you need to know you need Peter Obi. Other considerations like tribe, ethnicities, religion do not matter anymore because as it stands now, it's a fight against the corrupt politicians of all tribes, ethnicities, and religion who have kept you prostrate and out.
