KWUPO YOUTH SUMMIT 2025: SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT.
The central planning committee for the maiden edition of the National KWUPO youth and empowerment summit under the leadership of Hon. Terzungwe Uzankeji has cordially invited all kwande and Ushongo sons and daughters to the forthcoming summit slated for Friday, 4th July 2025 at Doo palace resort, Ushongo Town.
The event, which is first of it kind among socio cultural groups in Benue state, will also feature cultural displays, discussion sessions, and empowerment for medium - and small-scale businesses and farmers .
Again, the summit will also feature paper presentation on topical issues that will accelerate development within the Kwande /Ushongo Geopolitical axis .
The following KWUPO sons will share insights on the following topics.
1- Dr. Raymond Anumve, a seasoned academic and community mobilizer, will speak on the topic ,"Youths as a tool for empowering the future: Unity in Diversity. "
2- CSE John Asen Loko , a security expert, and senior staff with the EFCC will give a keynote address and lead discussion on the topic "Youth ,Anti-Corruption, cyber crime, and security in contemporary society" .
3- A two term Chairman of Benue internal revenue service ,a seasoned banker , an entrepreneur of repute and top management staff of the FIRS , Dr. Andrew Ayabam will lead discussion on the topic, "Entrepreneurship and Innovation: the Time and opportunities for Kwande Youth."
4- Prof. Msugh-Ter Manyi of JOSTUM makurdi will speak on ,"The role of culture and tradition in the development of a modern society."
5- "Investment Opportunities in Agro Processing Businesses in Kwande/Ushongo". This topic will be decisively presented by Chief Hon.Joseph Tersoo Iornumbe Loko PhD, an accomplished publisher and author of many books and journals. He has experience in both the public and private sectors. He is currently a lecturer with Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi.
Attendance at the youth summit is open to every kwande and Ushongo indigene ,both home and in the diaspora, with 10 delegates selected across the 26 council wards of Kwande and Ushongo by the various 3rd class chiefs to form a robust audience.
Invitations have also been extended to the member House of Representatives for kwande /Ushongo Federal constituency, Hon. Terseer Ugbor , Members of the Benue state house of assembly from the zone notably, the majority leader of the Benue state house of assembly, Hon. Saater Tiseer,of Mbagwa state constituency, Hon. Thomas Dugeri of kwande West State constituency, Hon. Simon Gabo of mata state constituency and Hon.Samuel Anyor Matu of kwande east state constituency, who are expected to interface with the audience, youths and give stewardship of what they have done so far to improve our intermediate area .
Also , invitations have been extended to appointees of the government both at the state and the federal level from the KWUPO intermediate area. This will avail them the opportunity to highlight the achievements of their principals ,President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dr. Fr. Hyacinth Alia within the kwande intermediate area.
The CPC has also extended an invitation to KWUPO Business class, captains of industries, entrepreneurs , farmers ,women groups , the academia , youth groups , IDA , SHADA ,MATA Development association, Mbagwa development association, proprietors of schools and TUDA.
It is also worthy to mention that a Window has been provided for August guest appearances, and an invitation has been extended to the executive governor of Benue state ,His Excellency Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia to meet and interface with the youths . The CPC has equally invited the senator representing Benue North-East, Barr. Emmanuel Udende, to grace the event and highlight his achievements within the KWUPO intermediate area . Both the Executive Governor and Senator Udende are expected to address the delegates ,traditional rulers ,women, and youth of KWUPO and leave as they won't be part of the summit thereafter.
Other categories of invitees include all those aspiring for political positions in the build-up to 2027 elections, religious leaders , and student groups.
The CPC acknowledges the coordinating efforts of the National KWUPO youth leader, Dr. Tavershima Mongol for his resilience to ensure the youth summit is seamless.
Furthermore, the CPC has commended His Royal Highness, Tor Kwande ,Chief Ambrose Pine Iortyer , Ter Ushongo, HRH,Chief Augustin Kuma , Ter kwande, HRH, Chief Timothy Ahile for their fatherly role ,and the commitment to be in attendance with all the 27 third class chiefs within the area . We equally salute the President General of KWUPO, Comrade Aloko Nachi Simon ,his exco and the unwavering support to make the forthcoming event a success.
The CPC thank the executive chairmen of Kwande and Ushongo, the Honorable Vitalis Neji and Hon. Terkimbi Adzuu, for giving a nod to this epoch event with a promise to be in attendance.
We appreciate those who have given financial support and other logistics to make KWUPO youth and empowerment summit feasible. Full list of names and those who have supported magnanimously will be made available after the event. You are the true and genuine kwande born.
This special announcement serves as a formal invitation to all kwande and Ushongo indigenes. Let's come together and advance the course of our people.
