The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission to ban the latest single by Street-hop act Portable, stating that the song encourages ritual killings.

On Friday, 20th January 2023, Portable released a new single titled ‘Kuku Do Ritual’ on which he addressed the desire for wealth and ask those who wish for money to resort to diabolical means to get money as death is the general conclusion for all human beings irrespective of their actions.

According to MURIC, the song encourages rituals for killing among the youth who make up Portable's listeners and over whom he holds significant influence.

Court Bars Korra Obidi, Ex-husband From Posting Children's Visuals Online

A court in California, United States of America, has barred dancer Korra Obidi and her ex-husband, Justin Dean, from posting visuals of their children on social media.

The duo, who broke up in March 2022 have been in court over the custody of their two children, June and Athena.

In a court document dated January 19th 2022, the feuding parties were forbidden from posting videos, photos or live-stream their children or any content that have their children in it on social media until further notice.

Part of the court order read, “Neither party may post any videos, photos or live-stream the minor children on any social media platform nor allow the minor children to appear in any picture, video or live-stream posted to any social media platform without further Court Order. Neither party may take video, photos or live stream any interaction between the parties in this matter until further Court Order."

Their divorce was finalised in November 2022.

Nigerian Grammy award winner, Ayo Balogun, also known as Wizkid, has dropped hint of a planned tour with singer David ‘Davido’ Adeleke.

Wizkid made the disclosure on Wednesday via a post to his verified Instagram account.

He said the planned tour would kick off after his “More Love, Less Ego” tour.

He asked his fans to get ready for the tour with Davido as it would be one of a kind.

The funeral service of Bolanle Raheem was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God,Olive Tree Parish, in Ikoyi Lagos state,today January 17 2023.

Late Bolanle was allegedly shot dead by a police officer on Christmas Day December 25th 2022,in Ajah Lagos state.

The trial of the Assistant Superintendent of police Drambi Vandi, accused of killing her commenced at Lagos State High Court,Tafawa Balewa Square annex, on Monday, January 16,2023. He pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

8th AFRIMA: Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Adekunke Gold Make Winners List

Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy has been adjudged the Best Act in Africa at the 8th edition of the prestigious All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA in Dakar Senegal.

Burna Boy also defeated South Africa’s Kabza De Small, Cote d’Ivoire’s Didi B to win the Best Album of Year award.
Didi B, in turn, won the award for Song of the Year.

Other Nigerian singers that won awards on the night were Wizkid with Best Act in West Africa category; Davido, who won Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music category and Adekunle Gold, who won Best Act Group in African contemporary music and Best Act, Duo or Group in African Pop, for his collaboration with Davido on the song, ‘High.’

Asake who dominated 2022 with an unprecedented run took home the Artist of the Year.

Best Female Act in West Africa award went to Guinean singer, Manamba Kanye.

How Yahoo Boy Tricked Me Into Coming To Nigeria - US Victim

A United States citizen, Vonapolouis Moss, has explained to the Kwara State Police Command how she was tricked into travelling to Nigeria by Joshua Awoyele, a 23-year-old suspected Internet fraudster widely known as “yahoo boy”.

Moss of 2962, W 64th Court, Merrillville, Indiana 46410, USA said she was lured into the country on January 9, 2023, by the suspect.

She further added that she met him on TikTok, a social media platform, and he claimed to be an American by the name of Howard Adams currently working in Nigeria.

Narrating the incident, the state police command said the suspected fraudster identified as Joshua Awoleye, a Higher National Diploma student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin allegedly lured the foreigner and swindled her of the sum of $1000 when she came to Nigeria.

According to the victim, Awoleye took her to a Bureau de Change when she arrived Kwara State to change the $1000 she had on her into naira.

The victim lamented that when the money on her got finished, the suspect asked her to request for more from her family and friends in the United States.

Parading the suspect at the police headquarters in Ilorin on Friday, the Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama, said that Awoleye of Sabo-Oke Road, Ilorin lodged Moss in a hotel and defrauded her.

Nollywood actress, Ireti Doyle has confirmed her divorce from veteran actor Patrick Doyle.

The 55-years-old made the confirmation in an interview with Chude Jideonwo saying: “We are officially divorced.”

The mother of six also corrected the impression that she had her first child at 17, noting that she was 19 when she became a mother.

Chude in his intro disclosed that the actress suffered physical and domestic violence as a teen.

She supported his claim by saying that she had no business getting married at the time she did, not to talk of who she chose to get married to.

The Tinsel actress said: “The truth of the matter is that I had no business being married at that time talk less of… let’s not even go to the choice of who I got married to.”

Ireti and Patrick Doyle got married in 2004 and have six children together, but lost one to sickle cell.

In 2017, Ireti moved out of the house after an undisclosed dispute with her husband.

Two years after, Patrick Doyle took to social media to publicly apologize to his wife after admitting he was the one who screwed up their relationship.

The 55-year-old actress is a writer, actor, producer, and presenter. She produced and presented her own fashion and lifestyle show titled Oge With Iretiola for ten years.
