You lied about your past, your father disowned you – APC chieftain Eze blasts Wike

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has responded to some of the claims made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike during a recent interview.

Wike recently appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today where he, among other things, claimed that he came from rich background and attended school driving in his own car. He said this insisting he did not come from the same background as his former boss, Chibuike Amaechi.

Wike also claimed that Dame Judith, the wife of Rotimi Amaechi, was collecting the sum of N4 million monthly to train Rivers women. Wike vowed to resign if the report of forensic audit on the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, does not indict Amaechi’s wife.

Reacting to Wike’s claims, Eze, an ally of Amaechi, who often stand for the former Minister of Transportation, said Wike only presented falsehood about his past exposure to the public thereby ridiculing himself.

According to him, Wike, who was an errand boy to Amaechi, has of today denied everyone who made one contribution or another to lift him from abject poverty which reigned supreme in his family.

Eze wondered whether it was Wike that made himself a Local Government Chairman, Chief of Staff to Amaechi and later nominated himself as a Minister during the Jonathan regime.

“Trying to claim how rich his father was when poverty that radiated his family was as strong as the direct ray of sun, is denying his background,” Eze said in a statement he signed and made available to reporters at the weekend.

“His father, if alive, would be disappointed in his act of self-denial to justify his lavish living with public funds. Not minding that his father disowned him because of his character and if not for his friend’s father who assisted him by paying his school fees, Nigerians would have been spared of having such a charlatan in public service

“In his futile attempt to castigate Amaechi’s wife who had genuine dealings with the NDDC, one is forced to ask whether Wike’s wife is fit for the exalted position of a Judge which she holds given that sleeping daily in the same room and on the same bed with a character like Wike will definitely affect her sense of judgement in the delivery of justice. The business of Court is a noble one and the background of a Judge shapes his/her sense of judgement.”

Eze blamed Amaechi said the former Rivers Governor made the greatest error in his political journey by encountering Wike and assisting him to be a Local Government Chairman; appointing him as his Chief of Staff and recommending him for Ministerial appointment.

“As Governor, Wike’s biggest legacy is the destruction of all major policies and projects set up by the Amaechi’s government for the betterment of Rivers State and her people. The Agricultural set up that would have taken care of the food challenge currently facing Nigerians was destroyed, the educational sector and scholarship set up by Amaechi to make Rivers State a hub for human development was destroyed by Wike.”

"You wouldn’t be President if Jonathan had crushed opposition."
~ADC Interim National Publicity Secretary and National Coalition Spokesperson, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

“The President needs to prove that he is truly a democrat. He must remind his men that if the Goodluck Jonathan administration had behaved this way, the APC would never have come to power in 2015, and he would not be President today”.

Former State Chairmen and key executive members of the ADC from the North East and North West zones were invited to a secret meeting with top federal officials.

“We have credible intelligence that this meeting is not for national security or peacebuilding.
“Its goal is to intimidate, coerce, and possibly recruit these individuals into a scheme aimed at undermining the opposition. This is not politics. This is sabotage.”

The motive is to create division within its ranks, delegitimise its new leadership, and derail its emergence as a credible alternative to the ruling party.

Attempts to woo or pressure party officials in the name of political engagement are nothing short of a “coordinated assault on Nigeria’s democracy.”

“This is how one-party states are born, through fear, coercion, and manipulation. It is now obvious that the Tinubu administration, having lost public trust, is unable to face a united and credible opposition. Instead of addressing the country’s challenges, it has returned to the old playbook of destabilising rivals.

The ruling party’s tactics were pushing Nigeria toward dangerous political terrain, and we vow to resist what it a desperate bid to silence opposition voices.

“This party belongs to every Nigerian who is tired of the lies, the hardship, and the manipulation. We will not allow a few desperate men to take the country backward. We will resist them through every democratic means available."

The Coalition of Ambition: Why 2027 Might Still Belong to Tinubu

In 2023, the Nigerian opposition had a golden opportunity to defeat the APC at the polls, but they squandered it. Why? Two words: personal ambition.

Peter Obi’s defection from the PDP to Labour Party weeks before the election was the final nail in PDP’s coffin. By pulling a significant portion of southern youth and Christian votes, Obi effectively split the opposition vote and handed the victory to Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The numbers don’t lie; combine Obi and Atiku’s votes, and the story could have been different.

To be candid, Atiku and Obi have been inconsistent in their political journeys. Atiku has moved from PDP to ACN to APC and back to PDP, while Obi moved from APGA to PDP, and then to LP. While it is not wrong to change parties, when the motivation is clearly personal ambition, not ideology or vision, the public eventually notices. These men are chasing the presidency like a game of musical chairs—jumping from one party to another, hoping one finally puts them in A*o Rock.

Now, they want to form a coalition, ADC, LP, PDP, NNPP, etc. but it’s already looking like a house built on sand. Atiku still wants to be president. Obi believes he is the people’s choice and feels entitled to the presidency. Rabiu Kwankwaso wants his turn too. What happens when all of them sit at the table and no one is willing to give up their ambition?

Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated what it means to play the long game in Nigerian politics. Love him or hate him, the man is a seasoned political strategist. He didn’t just wake up and become president. He spent over two decades building structures, making allies, empowering political foot soldiers from the ward level to the national assembly. He played kingmaker for years and waited for the right moment to strike.

While the others were fighting over who should get the ticket, Tinubu was working the system, understanding the real dynamics of Nigerian politics: grassroots mobilization, structure, patience, and strategic loyalty.

And let’s not forget: after the 2023 election, Peter Obi virtually went silent. The so-called “Obidient” movement lost momentum. No serious political meetings. No town hall forums. No grassroots development. The Labour Party became just another platform, not a movement. You don’t build a national political machine by trending on social media.

Now, as 2027 approaches, the same characters are trying to merge forces, yet no clear structure, no shared ideology, no defined candidate. Just ambition floating on ego.

If we’re being objective, Tinubu stands a real chance of winning again in 2027, and here’s why:

1. Structure: APC still has the widest political structure in Nigeria, from ward to federal level.

2. Incumbency Power: Whether you like it or not, the party in power controls more levers of influence.

3. Disunited Opposition: Unless the opposition agrees on a single candidate and strategy early, they will split the votes again.

4. Time: No politician can build what Tinubu built in just two years. His patience, long-term vision, and networking across Nigeria are unmatched.

In conclusion, politics in Nigeria is not a sprint—it’s a marathon. Tinubu understood that. Atiku and Obi did not. And unless the so-called coalition can put aside ego, agree on one credible candidate, and start building structure from now, 2027 might just be another smooth ride for BAT if care is not taken.

Well, I dey wait for who go gree for who Sha.

According to JTT , the Nigerian constitution works against the interests of the Nigerian people can be interpreted in various ways, and it often reflects a critical perspective on governance, political practices, or socioeconomic conditions in Nigeria. Here are a few points that might be raised in such a discussion: 1. Federal Structure and Resource Control: Critics argue that the distribution of resources and powers between the federal government and the states can disadvantage certain regions, especially in oil-rich areas. This has led to feelings of marginalization among various ethnic groups. 2. Human Rights Issues: There are concerns regarding the protection of human rights under the Nigerian constitution. Issues such as police brutality, restrictions on freedom of expression, and the treatment of political dissidents are often highlighted. 3. Judiciary Independence: The independence of the judiciary is essential for upholding the rule of law. If the judiciary is perceived as being influenced by the executive or other political forces, it can undermine public trust in the constitution and legal system. 4. Corruption: Widespread corruption can lead to the ineffective implementation of constitutional provisions, resulting in a lack of accountability and transparency in governance. 5. Electoral Issues: Concerns about electoral integrity, including allegations of rigging and violence, can lead to a lack of faith in the democratic process and the constitutional framework designed to protect citizens' rights to choose their leaders. 6. Amendments and Reforms: The process of amending the constitution can be contentious, and some citizens may feel that their needs and concerns are not adequately represented in the constitutional framework. 7. Social Justice and Inequality: Issues of social justice, economic inequality, and access to basic services can be seen as a failure of the constitutional mandate to provide for the welfare of all citizens. It's important to note that while these criticisms exist, there are also many who argue that the constitution provides a framework for democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria. The effectiveness of the constitution in serving the Nigerian people often depends on the political will, civic engagement, and the active participation of the citizenry in governance. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is endowed with an abundance of natural resources, particularly minerals, but grapples with poverty and conflict. As a major global supplier of copper and cobalt, with substantial reserves of gold, tin, and coltan, one would expect these resources to have generated widespread prosperity for its citizens. However, the DRC's resources are often tied to corruption, conflict, and the "resource curse," where resource wealth worsens development challenges. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a major global supplier of minerals, including cobalt, copper, diamonds, gold, tantalum, and tin. The country's mining industry is a significant sector of its economy, with mineral exports accounting for over 95% of its export revenues. Mining activities range from large-scale industrial projects to smaller artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) operations. But why hasn't the DRC become one of the richest and most developed nations worldwide despite its vast resources?

Why are Cameroonian artistes or actors not invited to Nigeria for shows and concerts? Every year, Nigerian artistes come to Cameroon, gather hundreds of millions, and walk away with it, but Cameroonian artistes are never invited to Nigeria for any show. Their actors and actresses come to Cameroon, get paid millions to feature in movies or attend festivals, but Cameroonian actors are never invited to Nigeria. Why? Well, show organizers invite you for a show depending on how popular you are and the number of fans are ready to see you in a particular location. Davido, Wizkid, Shallipopi, Kizz Daniel, Burna Boy have millions of followers in Cameroon and can easily sell tickets in Cameroon. But is there a Cameroonian artiste with 10k fans in Nigeria willing to pay and see him or her? No show organizer will invite you or pay you knowing fully well you have no fans or can’t pull a crowd. Why are Cameroonian actors and actresses not invited to Nigeria too? It’s basically the same; if you are that popular and your face can make people rush to watch a movie, you will be invited everywhere, not just Nigeria. Cameroonians will quickly invite and pay Ramsey because he has fans in Cameroon and featuring in a movie will sell the movie. Showbiz is business, my people; it’s not charity. Nigeria does not hate Cameroon. If Nigeria hates Cameroon, what about South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda? Why are they not invited there? It is not hate. You just need to build your brand and grow. People will hardly demand for what they do not know. In all honesty, do you think Magasco can sell 2k tickets in Nigeria, Ghana, or Kenya? 🤦‍♂️💔
