AN EXCELLENT EMPLOYEE MINDSET

Whether your goal is to one day become a boss, rise to the highest ranks in your workplace or have your name etched in the cores of the organization, this pathway is sure and confirmed.

1. PERSONALIZE YOUR JOB: Say to yourself "I'm here now, whatever hasn't worked yet, starts working now". Be involved in the company like you have the highest stake.

2: BEAR BURDENS: Browse through the ethics or tenets of the firm, them personally. Major on areas that relate with customer relationship and insist on them in your daily speech, post and actions.

3: CONTRIBUTE YOUR PERSONAL SKILLS: From time to time, offer personal skills. Manage small events, design graphic contents for emails, send articles for company blog posts or offer to teach the company security or porters a relevant skill for free.

4: DEVELOP YOURSELF: Pick a 2-week course every 3months on topics related to your field. Some companies do this for their staff but you're not as highly rated by an improvement that emanated from company aid as much as that which comes from personal sponsorship. It sends a message.

5: BE A SOLUTION: Whatever comes to your table doesn't leave until solved even if it's not your discipline. No problem is unsolved around you, and you never complain. If this becomes your style (especially without complain), you'll only dine with the bosses.

When you achieve these WITHOUT PRIDE, you'll feel a level of interdependence between you and the firm and herein lies an organic JOB SECURITY which in turn births recognition and massive appreciation.

Try this and see the magic in your workplace.

The best way to attract people is not by "Come see what I'm enjoying" rather "Come see what I've become".

What you're enjoying may last for a while, may not be transferable and may have limitations but same cannot be said about what you've become.

You control when you become, you're controlled when you enjoy. You'd rather want to be the Nigerian president than a Nigerian Ambassador to the US.

We shouldn't die enjoying privileges, we must become those privileges.

It's unfortunate how begging has metamorphosed into a career in Abuja.

On Galadima bridge in 2017, a beggar gave birth to twins and the next day she tagged them along to her begging post. This increased her income for the next 3 months and in no time, beggars with children multiplied on that bridge and many others.

It is only funny to note that the same beggar with twins in 2017, is back at the bridge with 4kids(the 2017 twins and two new ones).

What is most unfortunate is that the real physically challenged ones have made a craft out of their situation; some sweep the bridge and keep it tidy while passers by voluntarily bless them, others hawk water, lollipops and even kola nuts on the bridge using the advantage of "pity" to sell. Meanwhile, the fake beggars, who are not challenged in any way, rather device narratives to emotionally blackmail unsuspecting commuters into giving them alms.

Some of the following are their shenanigans;

1. A good looking adult male stands with you at a junction waiting for a taxi, he greets and starts a conversation by asking for directions and quickly before a taxi arrives, raises alarm that he's missed his way, admitting that this is his first time. He asks you where the nearest bank is and kindly requests for a small fare to get there and withdraw. You don't have any option.

2. Two beautiful ladies ask you for direction to a place and after the description, one say "Wow, so this is what we're going to trek, the other tells her to ask you if you'd help out." Then boom! "Bros please can you assist us with Tp to that place?" They target people in a hurry and they watch you leave the environment, then they come back and resume.

There are many more but we must be very careful. Some of them only need money while others assess their victims in order to strike.

Don't fall for emotional intimidation. Give only if you have and don't stress yourself at all beyond your capacity.

Enjoy your week guys.
