The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has disposed of illicit drugs worth an estimated N301.05 billion. A total of 329,865.585 kilogrammes were destroyed in Lagos on Monday at Navy Town, Ojo, in compliance with a federal high court directive.
NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi stated that the consignment included exhibits from concluded uncontested cases and abandoned seizures. The Lagos command contributed 246,864.535kg seized between April 2025 and May 2026, while 83,001.05kg came from MMIA, Tincan, Apapa, Marine Command and a special operations unit.
The destroyed drugs comprised co***ne, he**in, methamphetamine, various cannabis types including Canadian Loud and skunk, ephedrine, tramadol, codeine syrup, other opioids, and khat.
Speaking at the event, NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa said the action reflects governmentβs commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks. He noted that the trade undermines families, communities, health, and security, and is often connected to terrorism and organized crime.
