The OAK RIDGE BOYS will be going back into the studio to record a new album, soon.

We have built our career on recording great songs, no matter who wrote them. The great song lives longer than the artist.

Our next project will be a collection of Iconic Hits. Everything from HOW GREAT THOU ART to STARDUST.

While I am not looking for new material, if a writer writes a new song that has that iconic feel, and fits smoothly with the other well known titles, then I am always open for consideration.

I do not go through catalogs looking for a particular type of song. I have just told you what I would consider. If you have something you feel fits the framework I have laid out, I am open to listening to your pitch. No more than two pitches per pitch. If you can’t hit me with two pitches, then you do not understand what works with iconic hits.

I normally go through up to 1,000 songs every album, looking for the perfect song for each project. I will not do that this time. Major, iconic hits will have already been picked. I will look for songs that sound like you have heard them forever, even though they may be new.

That is the best way I can frame what I am looking for.

So many of you have been checking on me to see how I am doing. I have been trying to answer everyone, even if it is a thumbs up. However. I just shared with a friend what happened to me this morning, and I felt that I might share it with you.

——With the love life we had, I could never say anything but “THANK YOU LORD FOR ALLOWING US 54 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS”!!!!! I still see her in everything in my life.

I came home, this morning, from singing in Texas. I turned on the radio and there was a voice that sounded familiar.

“BY AND BY WHEN THE MORNING COMES

WHEN ALL THE SAINTS OF GOD ARE GATHERING HOME

WE WILL TELL THE STORY HOW WE’VE OVERCOME

AND WE’LL UNDERSTAND IT BETTER BY AND BY.”

It took me a while to believe what I was hearing. It was my Norah Lee, singing lead with the world famous Chuck Wagon Gang. I had never heard her sing with them on the radio.

I believe she was telling me that everything is gonna be alright.

Toby Keith came to see the OAK RIDGE BOYS and TANYA TUCKER in the early 80’s. We were at the Lloyd Noble Arena in Oklahoma City. He said that “BEAUTIFUL YOU” was his favorite song on radio and that he just had to hear it in person. I have always loved Toby and his independent nature. Rest in peace, my friend, in the arms of JESUS.

“Duane Allen”. This is the first site I opened when I first came on Facebook. It is limited to 5,000 friends. It is never full because I am not growing it.

“DuaneAllenFanPage”, This is a page that is not limited. All you have to do to join is “like” the page. It is for fans, friends, family, and all people who wish to post on this page. On this page, I post news and stories of interest to me that I hope you like.
