BREAKING: Former president Muhammadu Buhari passed on at age 81

Nigeria's former President, Muhammadu Buhari, has d!ed in a London clinic on Sunday.

The news of his passing was confirmed by his former aide, Bashir Ahmad, in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Ahmad Wrote:
“The family of the former president has announced the passing of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.

"May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amen".

Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s civilian president from 2015 to 2023, had earlier ruled the country as a military head of state between 1983 and 1985.

He was widely known for his anti-corruption drive, efforts to reform governance, and initiatives aimed at economic stabilization.

Details of his burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family, in line with Islamic traditions.

‎African foremost Private University, Igbinedion University, Okada has reappointed the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stanel Group and The Delborough Lagos, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu as member, Governing Council of the institution.

‎The renewal of the serial entrepreneur's appointment was disclosed in a letter addressed to him dated 10th June 2025 and personally signed by the Hon. Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents, Sir(Chief) Dr. Gabriel O. Igbinedion, CFR, CON.
‎
‎The letter reads in part, "With reference to our letter no. OGI/OA/BC/233A/X dated 18th May 2022, we are pleased to inform you that your appointment as member, Governing Council, Igbinedion University, Okada, is hereby renewed for another period of 3(three) years effective from Thursday, 10the June 2025.
‎
‎"We sincerely appreciate your contributions so far to the progress and growth of our dear University and solicit for even more in the years ahead."
‎
‎Reacting on his Instagram page , Dr. Uzochukwu thanked Hon. Chancellor and the entire Igbinedion University community for the trust bestowed in him and pledged to contribute his quota even more to the growth and development of education in Nigeria.
‎
‎"Serving on the Board of the first private university in Nigeria is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I see it as an opportunity to contribute once again to shaping the future of education and leadership in our nation.
‎
‎"Thank you to the Chancellor, management and entire Igbinedion University community for this continued trust. May God grant us wisdom and grace for even greater impact," he added.
