*The Man I Met*
Part 1(episode 2)
According to him, he didn't have any friend in the area and he'd longed to have one. When I asked him why he didn't make one until I came around, he said he couldn't explain why. He said that the moment he saw me, he knew he wanted to be my friend. I felt comfortable with him except for the fact that I believed he was married.
When I asked, he said he wasn't. I insisted he was but was only denying it like most men do, but he swore and promised. I didn't believe him totally, but I let it slide. In my subconscious, I believed he had a family somewhere. Before long, we became close friends. More like besties. He told me everything while I did the same. He treated me with care, respect and generosity. He was a giver and was very romantic even though we were not in a relationship.
At a point, he started calling me his good luck. He said he'd had the best of lucks since he met me. A few months down the line, I fell absolutely in love with him. He was eveyrything I needed in a man and he treated me the way I wanted to be treated. I didn't verbally tell him how I felt about him, but he knew. He couldn't have missed that. It was so glaring.
All the while we've been friends, I hadn't been to his house. He never invited me. We'd mostly hung out and met outside our compound. I believed that was his way of respecting boundaries and I respected him for being a gentleman. Even though I wished he wouldn't be one on that subject.
Then one day, he asked if I could come over to his place that evening. That was the question I'd been waiting for. I wanted to hold him off a little before accepting the invitation, but I couldn't. I'd waited for too long. I accepted and went. It was a magnificent apartment. Everything looked beautiful and expensive. He treated me like a special guest. He made me feel very comfortable and welcomed. While we were discussing, he stared me in the eyes and asked me to be his woman.
Hope nothing is strange?
