*Why Graduation Party Is More Than Just a Celebration*
As the term draws to a close, many schools are preparing for Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremonies. However, a few parents still question the importance of these events, arguing that education should be strictly academic.
*Dear parents, hear me out:*
As beautiful and logical as your viewpoint might seem, education is not based solely on the cognitive domain (what children know or can recall). It also includes the affective domain (emotions, values, confidence) and the psychomotor domain (skills, actions, and presentation). True education touches the whole child.
*Let’s break it down.* Here's why you should support your child's graduation party and pay the associated fee:
1. ✅ It builds their confidence – Stepping onto the stage in front of peers and adults gives them boldness and courage for life.
2. 🧠 It enhances their intellectual and social capacity – Celebrating success inspires them to strive for more and value excellence.
3. 🎙️ It improves public speaking and expression – Activities like recitations, debates, or speeches help children find their voice.
4. 🧑🏽🤝🧑🏼 It promotes teamwork and responsibility – Planning and rehearsals encourage collaboration and discipline.
5. 💫 It creates lasting memories and self-worth – These are the moments children never forget; it reinforces their sense of achievement.
6. 👨👩👧👦 It strengthens home-school bonds – When parents participate, it builds stronger relationships between school, child, and family.
7. 📷 It preserves milestones – Pictures and certificates from these events serve as historical records in your child’s journey.
*A Note to School Owners and Administrators:*
While organizing these events, do not treat it as a profit-making venture. Let the parents see the value in what they are paying for—from the quality of the event, gifts, and activities to the emotional and developmental benefits it brings to the children.
Be transparent, considerate, and focused on impact—not income.
Wishing all schools, parents, and students a joyful and meaningful graduation season. May it mark the beginning of greater things ahead.
Stay blessed and keep advancing!
