🚨BREAKING: Edo Deputy Governor Locked Out Of Govt Office

Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has been denied access to his office at the Government House in Benin, the state capital.

On getting to the state house on Monday morning, the Deputy Governor met the gate locked with chain and padlock.

“Up till now, I don’t have any official communication that I should relocate. The only people that have official communication are my civil servants. The civil servants have official communication but I don’t. As I am speaking to you now, I am standing by the gate,” he said speaking to a yet-to-be-identified person on phone.

The deputy governor and his aides were said to have waited for about an hour before leaving.

MohBad Was Not Poisoned In Our Custody — NDLEA Spokesperson

The spokesman for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Femi Babafemi, has slammed claims that the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka MohBad, was poisoned in their custody.

In an X post on Saturday, Babafemi argued that the deceased was not one of the Marlian Music acts arrested by the agency in 2022, as speculated by many.

He added that this makes it impossible for MohBad to have been poisoned in their custody.

Babafemi shared a link by an online platform (Not Bizzibordi Online) which detailed the arrest of six people, two females, and four males, in the persons of Oniyide Azeez (Zinoleesky), Owoeye Michael (m) and Abimbola Ogbe (m).

Others are Dominica Chinwe (f), Olaolohun Shubomi Mariam (f), and Ibrahim Alawo (m).

"This is an authentic account of the arrest and detention of some Malian artistes in Feb 2022, an incident that has now been twisted by purveyors of fake news to say Mohbad was poisoned or detained by the agency.

"I hope, they’ll be bold enough to defend their claims when the hand of the law catches them," Babafemi tweeted.

Babafemi's tweet is coming hours after a now-viral video of the deceased surfaced online, showing him weeping in what looked like a hospital.

In the video, MohBad claimed he was harassed and given a white substance to consume.

"They gave me water to drink, it was inside a bottle of water plastic. They said I was using drugs. I was the only one who drank it, they didn't give others to drink. I won't lie. Then they told me to go home and told the others to wait.

"They even hit a gun on my head. I saved Zino in that video but Zino snitched on me."

Singer Bella Shmurda Cancels Canada Tour Over MohBad's Death

Singer Bella Shmurda has cancelled his Canada tour following the death of his colleague and friend, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka MohBad.

Bella Shmurda made this known on his X page on Saturday.

He wrote, "Due to the recent sad event and unforeseen circumstances, I have had to cancel my Tour of Canada. New dates would be communicated."

The tour was scheduled to hold in September.

MohBad died on Tuesday at age 27.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of Olayemi Cardoso to serve as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

A statement by Mr Tinubu’s special adviser on media, Ajuri Ngelale, said the new appointee was nominated for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending his confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

This directive is in conformity with Section 8 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which vests in the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the authority to appoint the Governor and Four (4) Deputy Governors for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), subject to confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Furthermore, Mr Tinubu has approved the nomination of four new deputy governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for a term of five (5) years at the first instance, pending their confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.

Your Structureless Label Turned Me Into An Errand Girl, Former YBNL Signee Temmie Ovwasa Knocks Olamide

Former YBNL signee, Temmie Ovwasa, has called out former boss Olamide over alleged maltreatment as an artiste under his record label.

Ovwasa, fondly known as YBNL Princess, while reacting to the sudden death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, shed more light on what life was as a YBNL signee.

According to the 'Osunwemimo' crooner, she lived in Olamide's home, where she became an errand girl/nanny for his wife, Adebukunmi Adedeji, and their child.

Ovwasa, in the series of posts shared on her Instagram page Thursday, alleged that not only did Olamide refuse to fulfill his part in the record contract signed back in 2016, but he also humiliated with the album art for the 2018 YBNL joint project 'YBNL MaFia Family.'

Ovwasa was the only featured artiste whose avatar was omitted and replaced with a photo of her face hanging off the wall.

"The joint album we recorded, why is my face on the wall, you misogynistic piece of s**t."

Speaking on MohBad's sudden passing, Ovwasa noted that the pressure placed on artistes by fans and labels alike can be damaging.

She added that so many artistes have been labeled addicts and ingrates for daring to speak against injustice in their respective record labels.

"I came to Lagos to sing, your structureless label put me in a house with your wife, and she turned me into her freaking errand girl.

"Do you know how wild it is to answer 'yes ma' to a girl who is just two years older than you because you need to get your life on track?

"And don't even get me started on the shady political affiliations that I can only keep quiet about if I don't want to be unalived.

"Last last, I'm not Nigeria's sacrificial lamb, and that one is not my story to tell. I hope MohBad rests in peace. You people have unalived him, go and eat his body.

"But I honestly will not forget this one. I can't. He spoke up. We usually do but we are all addicts and ungrateful artistes. Continue."

If Need Be, Mohbad's Body Can Be Exhumed For Autopsy - Lagos PPRO

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has stated that the body of late singer Oladimeji Aloba aka Mohbad can be exhumed for autopsy if the need arises.

He made this known in an Instagram live session with media personality Daddy Freeze on Thursday night.

The Force PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Thursday noted that the police would probe the singer's death.

Shedding more light on the statement, Hundeyin said, "The Force PRO issued a statement this evening (Thursday) saying that investigation will commence and that's what we're going to do.

"If need be, the body will be exhumed. It's not too late. The body can be exhumed and autopsy can be performed.

"The statement also states that people should bring whatever information they have to the commissioner of police in Lagos State.

"That's because we don't want to do hierarchy anymore. Take it to Force CID, bring it to Lagos Command. It doesn't matter. We're going to harmonise it within ourselves and ensure that justice is done."
