Today, I close a chapter!
POP DAY | NYSC journey ends
I remember how it all started just like yesterday.
The uncertainty.
The fear of going to a place I had never been before.
The North—Bauchi all the way from Lagos.
Far from home, far from what I knew, and way out of my comfort zone.
I remember the questions that flooded my mind.
“Will I cope?”
“How will I adapt to a new language, a new culture, and a whole new way of life?”
But somehow, step by step, I did.
I learnt.
I grew.
I evolved.
From early morning parades to lectures under the sun, to finding community with fellow corps members who became family, to PPA, to CDs, going for clearance and all...…
This journey has been nothing short of stretching and transforming.
And now it’s over.
A phase has ended.
And another begins.
Honestly....
This new phase comes with its own fears too.
The fear of “what next?”
But one thing this journey has taught me is once you take that first step, you’ve already done half of the job.
It may not be rosy, but you’ll find your rhythm.
You’ll learn and grow through every twist and turn.
Today, I look back with gratitude.
I congratulate myself.
And I return all the glory to God.
He carried me through it all.
So, to every serving or intending corp member out there—I see you.
I was once in your shoes.
You’ll be fine.
You’ll be more than fine.
Here’s to new beginnings.
Here’s to courage.
Here’s to growth.
And here’s to a girl who obeyed the Clarion Call and came out stronger.
Proudly an Ex-Corps Member!
Unto the next…
Congratulations to me ☺️
