“My business is great. I don’t really need marketing.”

I hear this all the time. And every time, I smile—because I get it.

Your product is solid. Your service speaks for itself. People are buying, referrals are coming in. So, why should you spend money on marketing when things are already moving?

But here’s the thing: good businesses don’t just survive; they grow. And growth isn’t accidental—it’s intentional.

Think about the brands you admire, the ones you buy from without a second thought. Do you think they just sat back and waited for customers to come? No. They positioned themselves in your mind. They created an experience, a story, a presence so strong that even when you weren’t thinking about them, they were thinking about you.

That’s what marketing does.

📌 It makes sure the right people know, love, and trust your brand.
📌 It turns casual buyers into loyal customers who won’t even check your competitors.
📌 It keeps you relevant in an ever-changing market.

At TASHTALKS MEDIA, we don’t just do marketing. We craft strategies that elevate businesses, helping them break through the noise and become the go-to brand in their industry.

So, if you think you don’t need marketing, think again. Because staying the same is the fastest way to get left behind.

Let’s build something iconic. DM us today. 🚀

Customer Service is Marketing!

This Customer Service Week, I’m reflecting on one of the most overlooked but powerful aspects of marketing—the customer experience.
In today’s competitive market, no matter how much you invest in promotions or flashy campaigns, your true brand image is shaped by how your customers feel when they interact with you.

Far too often, businesses focus only on making the sale and forget about nurturing the relationship that comes after. Consistency across every touchpoint—whether online or in person—is key to building trust and long-term loyalty.

What sets businesses apart isn’t just their product or service, but how valued their customers feel. That’s why prioritizing feedback, creating seamless experiences, and showing appreciation should be at the heart of every marketing strategy.

Here’s how businesses can improve:
- Align your marketing and customer service teams.
- Actively gather and implement customer feedback.
- Focus on long-term relationships, not just the sale.

Customer service isn’t a department; it’s the foundation of your brand.

How are you prioritizing your customers this week and beyond?

I know it’s Friday but hear me out

I Took a Break, Gained Professional Clarity, and Here’s What I’ve Learned

If you’ve noticed a pause in my content recently, it’s because I took a step back to focus on work, both personally and professionally. Sometimes, stepping away from the noise helps you rediscover what matters and gain clarity in a constantly evolving landscape.

In the past few weeks, I’ve nursed professional hurt, I’ve mourned a member of my team I’ve worked with for over five years, I’ve had to rebuild my outlook on life, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself fully in projects that are close to my heart.

I’ve also been doing a lot of incredible work with heading their marketing department , our marketing efforts have focused on building not just a brand but an experience that resonates deeply with our audience. Whether it’s crafting memorable campaigns or nurturing relationships, one thing has become clear: building meaningful connections is the cornerstone of any successful brand, and my focus has been on making sure my team and I get the job done.

Through my work, I’ve observed that the most successful brands aren’t just those with catchy slogans or stunning visuals (though those are important too!) but those that stand for something. It’s about being able to communicate your brand’s “why” in a way that resonates.

Brands that are crystal clear about their mission and consistently deliver on their promises foster loyalty and trust in ways that no amount of advertising spend can achieve.

This is one of the things will be teaching this week on my page so if you’re not following me, you should right now

This break also taught me the value of reflection. Stepping back allowed me to assess, recalibrate, and come back stronger with a renewed sense of purpose.

As I continue on this journey, I’m excited to share more of my insights with you. I hope that these lessons resonate with you as much as they have with me.

Over the past few weeks, I embarked on a personal life project that required me to engage with various business owners and vendors, purchasing their products and booking their services. What I encountered during this process left me utterly astounded and, to be honest, quite taken aback. The level of customer service, the responses, and the overall business experience I had were shockingly subpar. I was faced with a reality I hadn’t anticipated – a stark reminder of the challenges one can face when dealing with businesses, especially online ones, in Nigeria.

As a business owner myself, I understand the profound impact that customer experience can have on a brand. It’s not just about one transaction; it’s about fostering relationships and building a loyal customer base. Every negative encounter with a customer is a missed opportunity not just for one sale, but for countless potential future transactions.

Losing a single customer might not seem significant in the grand scheme of things, but losing the prospect of gaining numerous future clients is a substantial loss. The ripple effect of a poor customer experience can be far-reaching, damaging a business’s reputation and deterring potential customers from engaging with the brand. It’s a snowball effect that can hinder growth and profitability.
In the context of building a brand, the importance of prioritizing total customer experience cannot be overstated. Whether you operate a product-based business or a service-based business, your customers are the lifeblood of your enterprise. Their satisfaction and overall experience with your brand can make or break your business.
Investing in excellent customer service and a seamless customer experience isn’t just a nicety; it’s a strategic imperative. It involves not only providing quality products or services but also ensuring that the entire customer journey, from the first point of contact to post-purchase support, is smooth, efficient, and delightful.

Reflecting on my journey, I recently had a conversation that made me realize the true essence of a "win." It's not just about the big, momentous events that leave a lasting mark; it's also about the countless tiny victories that pave the way.

As a social media strategist and marketing expert, I've learned the importance of acknowledging the small wins – those grains of sand that often slip through our fingers unnoticed. Inspired by a business coach's wisdom, I began documenting these moments of hope and possibility. From requesting email introductions to envisioning dream partnerships, each step forward found its place on my list.

These wins might not be sealed deals or contracts, but they signify the courage to explore new avenues, the humility to reassess projects, and the hope to grow against all odds. I've placed a tangible reminder in my office, a list that keeps growing, reminding me of the progress made and the potential ahead.

I share this because I believe in the power of recognizing small victories. Each one is a stepping stone, a clue that leads us closer to our goals. I challenge you, my fellow professionals, to join me on this journey.

Can you keep a list of your small wins? ✨

Have you ever wondered how to consistently improve after each project, promotion, or launch? The secret lies in a simple yet powerful approach: the Post-Project Assessment Framework. This framework involves asking yourself four fundamental questions, the answers to which become the blueprint for your future endeavors.

Assess the Outcome: On a scale of 1-10, how do you score it? (10 = perfect, wouldn't change a thing)

Assess the Wins: What worked well and what to keep for the future?

Assess the Lessons: What should we change or try something new in its place?

Assess the Weight: What slowed us down or held us back? What should we remove?

During a recent mastermind call I hosted, a member expressed the feeling of "starting from behind." This sentiment resonates with many, especially when embarking on new ventures. But here's the truth: you're not starting from behind, in front of, or next to anyone—you're simply starting. That's it.

We often want to safeguard our decisions to prevent setbacks, and it's entirely normal to look back and wish we did things differently. However, the beauty of this framework is that it offers you the chance to iterate and improve with every attempt.

Every project, promotion, or launch is an opportunity for growth and refinement. By embracing the Post-Project Assessment Framework, you're not just starting; you're starting smarter. It's a continuous journey of learning, adapting, and achieving greater success.
