MARRIAGE IS NOT MEANT FOR EVERYBODY

If you have problem with unforgiveness, if you always find it difficult to forgive when you are offended, then marriage is not meant for you. I will rather advise you to remain single.

"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” answered Jesus, “but seventy times seven," (Matt. 18:21-22 GN).

I had always thought this passage was an hyperbole until I became a student in the school of marriage and I was practically taught and mentored on how to imbibe the virtue called forgiveness.

Do you have a diary where you keep the record of wrongs? Do you always refer to the evil that men had done against you? If you cannot easily forgive a mere friend, then you will be dead frustrated in marriage.

RELATIONSHIP

Many people do not know that all relationships are not of equal importance and they don't know how to place them on a scale of preference.

For instance, some men place their mothers above their wives, they think that in the other of things their mother come first and their wife come second. And this shows in their attitude and behavour.

On the other hand, some women also place their children above their husband. They may even deny it but you can evidently see it in their attitude and behaviour.

All relationships may be good and valuable but we must take note that all relationships are not of equal importance. Biblically speaking, divine relationship comes first and for those who are married, marital relationship comes second. Depending on the season of life you are in, parental or professional or friendly relationship may come third.

When a woman keeps making references to her father in her matrimonial home or a man consistently referring to his mother to discredit his wife such a woman or man does not understand what I call relationship dynamic...

WHO IS A WICKED MAN?

"A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue." Prov. 17:4

Who is a wicked man? The man who gives heed to false lips.

There are liars. There are false testifers. There are those who twist the truth for personal benefits.

Treat it as not being true any information you are not privy to. Treat as untrue any information you are unable to prove. Don't be driven by your emotion so that you will not be guilty of the same evil you are expected to defuse.

Would you make a conclusion over a matter you never knew its foundation? It is evil to do when you form an opinion on one-sidedly fabricated story.

Don't fuel the strive, don't sow the seed of injustice and unfairness, don't give heed to false 💋 lips so that God will not judge you wicked.

MAKING PROGRESS

Life does not always turn out the way we planned it. This is why in insurance they talk about risk, in management they talk of contingency. This is why the wisest of all men they do not know what tomorrow holds except God chooses to reveal or unfold.

You once thought it would be faster than this. You once said, “I will arrive earlier than my peers”, but years have gone by; things never turned out the way you planned them. Not because you were not smarter, not because you were not clever, not because God was partial but because we are humans and we never get to understand how God works out His plan for us.

Why is this happening to me? Why am I still at this level? Where did I miss out in my plan and strategy? Yes you did your SWOT Analysis. You had your action plan clearly worked out. You knew what to do and who to do what. But there was a hand behind the scene, who took you through the longer route to accomplish his purpose in you.

Stop asking questions. Fix your gaze on your destination. Don’t’ stop moving, Don’t remain on the same spot. Always remember that life is not about becoming great but making progress.
