Here Are Four Things You Should NOT Do as a Lady When You Are Menstruating
Ladies, let’s talk.
Menstruation is a natural part of life, yet many women go through it struggling, uncomfortable, or unaware of certain things that could make their period experience better or worse. Your body is already working extra hard during this time, and how you treat yourself matters.
Here are four major things you should NEVER do while on your period.
1. Do NOT Ignore Your Body’s Signals
Your body speaks to you, especially during menstruation. It tells you when you’re tired, when you need rest, when you need more water, and when something is wrong. Yet, many women push through extreme fatigue, ignore severe cramps, or dismiss unusual symptoms.
📌 If your cramps are unbearable, it’s not “normal.” See a doctor.
📌 If your flow is excessively heavy and leaves you weak, your body needs attention.
📌 If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or experience severe pain, listen to yourself and act.
Your health is everything. Take care of it.
2. Do NOT Overuse Painkillers Without Understanding the Cause
Painkillers can help manage cramps, but relying on them too much can be harmful. Many women pop pills without trying to understand why their pain is so intense.
📌 Instead of rushing for medication, first try natural remedies like warm water, light exercise, or herbal teas.
📌 If your cramps are extremely painful every month, consider seeing a doctor to check for conditions like fibroids or endometriosis.
📌 Remember, painkillers only treat symptoms, not the root cause.
Pain should not control your life. Seek knowledge, not just quick fixes.
3. Do NOT Use the Wrong Hygiene Products or Keep Them for Too Long
This is one of the biggest mistakes ladies make. Whether you use pads, tampons, or menstrual cups, hygiene is NON-NEGOTIABLE.
📌 Change your pad every 3–4 hours, even if it’s not full. Wearing it for too long can cause infections and bad odor.
📌 If you use tampons, do NOT leave them in for too long. Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is real and dangerous.
📌 Avoid scented hygiene products. They can irritate your skin and throw off your body’s natural balance.
Your menstrual hygiene is a direct reflection of how much you care for yourself. Treat your body with love.
4. Do NOT Feel Ashamed or Let Anyone Make You Feel Dirty
Let’s be clear: PERIODS ARE NOT DIRTY.
Society has made many women feel ashamed of menstruation, but this is a natural, powerful process.
📌 Do NOT feel embarrassed to carry your pads or tampons openly.
📌 Do NOT let anyone make you feel less because you are menstruating.
📌 Do NOT stay silent if you’re struggling with menstrual health issues. Talk about it. Educate others.
Your period is not just something that happens to you, it’s a part of who you are. How you handle it affects your health, confidence, and overall well-being.
Ladies, your period does NOT make you weak. It makes you powerful. Treat yourself with the care, love, and respect you deserve.
