Nnamdi Kanu to Gov. Otti: “I’m Proud of Your Giant Strides in Abia”

Detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed deep admiration for the leadership style of Governor Alex Otti, commending him for the positive transformation taking place in Abia State.

In a message to the Governor, Kanu urged him to continue serving the people with diligence, noting that he has been receiving consistent, positive feedback from home about developments in Abia since Otti assumed office.

He said:

“Continue serving the people diligently. I am very proud of your giant strides in Abia, based on the feedback I get from home.
I love that you're replicating what Late Dee Sam Mbakwe did in the old Imo State, which kept him permanently immortalised.
I’m only interested in good governance and anything that could better the lot of the people. May God continue to guide you and your team as you serve the state.”

Governor Alex Otti, along side with some Sokoto Govt Officials visited Nnamdi Kanu the IPOB leader At Sokoto Prison on Sunday, November 30, 2025. During the meeting, the Governor reassured Kanu that efforts towards resolving his situation have not stopped.

Otti encouraged Kanu to remain calm and steadfast, giving assurance that the matter is being handled administratively and that he is confident Kanu will eventually regain his freedom.

Omotosho disobeyed the Supreme Court directives. I, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was convicted on a dead law. This is not about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; it is about the citizens of this country. Your apparent actions have misled many people, and numerous individuals are languishing in prison, having faced similar situations without knowing their rights were trampled upon. What happened today wasn’t justice it was the ex*****on of a political decision long settled before the court ever sat. When a verdict aligns perfectly with a script predicted months in advance, it exposes a system where trials are theatre and outcomes are predetermined. Nigeria must now confront a hard question:
Do we want a nation governed by law, or by political convenience?

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu appeared at the Supreme Court to submit documents to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, requesting the discontinuation of his trial, which he argues is based on a repealed law.
He maintains that his detention is unjust.
