HOLY THURSDAY: EVENING MASS OF THE LAST SUPPER.

Today the Holy Mother Church celebrates the Mass of the last supper. On this day Christ instituted the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist prior to his arrest and crucifixion.

The Last supper was the final meal Jesus ate with his Disciples during which he predicted the one to betray him.

He also established the special priesthood for his Disciples, which is distinct from the Priesthood of all believers. He washed the feet of his Disciples, who would become the first set of priests as a sign of humility which points to the fact that they are called to serve and not to be served.

On this night, Eucharistic Adoration of the blessed Sacrament takes place where the Christian faithful remain in the presence of the Eucharist just as the Disciples kept a vigil with Christ.

Join us tomorrow as we dramatise the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ at 9:00am at St John's Secondary School and the Veneration of the Cross by 3pm at the Cathedral.

CELEBRATING PALM/PASSION SUNDAY

Today, the universal church commemorates the Lord's entrance into Jerusalem as we draw closer to Christ's suffering, death and resurrection.

Though Our Lord's entry into Jerusalem was to suffer the mockery of the devil and the brutality of men, Jesus was looking at the value and purpose of the journey which would be the triumph over sin and death.
In life, we often face various kinds of challenging situations and most times we cry and break our heads over what is prevailing in our lives, and fail to look beyond the present to see what lies ahead of us. Jesus looked not at the passion he would undergo but at the salvation his death on the Cross would bring.

Let us make a significant change in our lives today as we begin Holy week, to make it Holy as it is called. Have a great Palm Sunday and a rewarding Holy week.

May God bless us all 🙏

3rd Sunday of Lent(B)

An Organisation, group, community or Country without commandments, rules or laws which aid to guide or regulate it affairs cannot stand or rather be, because it lack power to do so.

Today's first reading from the book of Exodus gives an account of how God gave His commandments to the children of Israel through Moses, for them to abide to it in order to Forster the relationship they had with God.

In our Today's world, most families, group, organisation has failed to put up rules and regulations for orderliness in respective field, thereby bringing disorder, disunity or even crisis among them. If God can implement rules for good, who are we not to do same for the betterment of our homes, community or country?

We pray for His graces also to help us adhere to His rules and that of our nation too and not to go contrary to them.

May God bless us all!

Happy Sunday.

ASH WEDNESDAY; the begining of Lent, a period of prayers, Fasting and Alms giving which is a 40-day preparation period (except on Sundays) for Easter.

Ashes itself is a symbol of mourning, mortality and penance. The Church has long used ashes as an outward sign of grief, a mark of humility, mourning, penance and morality. Hence, it signifies a plea to God for mercy and compassion, pardon and forgiveness.

Remember that, we are dust and unto dust we shall return.

6th Sunday of the Year(B).

Is there a neighbour within your environment that is suffering from a leprosy of needs? Have you in any way tried to rescue such a person or persons?

You can cure that leprosy of others by getting to their various points of needs.

We pray God's enabling grace to execute this task as to draw more souls closer to Him, through Christ our Lord, Amen.

God bless us all!
