THE WINLOS __ LOVE, RELATIONSHIPS AND CHOICES
Episode 9.
So, two weeks to our wedding, I was in Asaba because my father-in-law is based in Asaba. My wife was in Asaba as well. So, I just visited Asaba, and my father-in-law called me from nowhere.
He said, "Where are you?"
I said, "I'm in Asaba."
He was shaking on the phone. "Where are you?"
I said, "I'm in Asaba."
He said, "What did you come to do?"
I said, "I came to do my marital counseling."
He said, "Tomorrow is your traditional wedding."
I said, "No sir, it's in two weeks' time."
He said, "No, it's now tomorrow."
I said, "Sir, my wedding is in two weeks' time. You know, Thursday then Saturday is the wedding."
He said, "I said it's tomorrow. Call Annually"βthatβs my wife nowβ"you guys are coming for a traditional wedding tomorrow. Don't bring anybody. I'm joining you guys for a traditional wedding."
I called my pastor immediately; he was in Lagos. I said, "Sir, look at what my father-in-law is saying."
He said, "He said it?"
I said, "Yes."
He said, "Please call him. Tell him, can we bring a photographer so I can document it?"
He asked, "Does he drink?"
I said, "Yes, he drinks."
He said, "We don't know what influence he's under because this is abnormal. Call him; maybe it's alcohol."
So we called my father-in-law. I said, "Sir, please sir, can we come with a crowd?"
He said, "No."
I said, "Just one representative?"
He said, "Don't come with a crowd."
We went to his house the next day in jeans. We wore jeans. There was no plan to have a traditional wedding. We went there and sat down. He was there with us, and he had just one representative there.
He said, "Where is the list?"
I said, "Sir, you know if you had given me time, I would have planned for the list. I have a plan."
He said, "Shut up! What did you bring?"
I said, "30,000."
He said, "Bring it."
He took a part of it and gave me back the rest. He said, "I'll go to the village myself."
Then he went inside and brought Holy Communion and sat down. This man is not a strong Christian; he is a traditional man. He said, "Do you know why I'm doing this thing?"
He said two nights ago as he was sleeping, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Whatever they tell you to do, do." He said he woke up scared. He said the Holy Spirit told him that in that traditional wedding, he should give them communion.
Amen. Give them what? Communion.
So the man took communionβsomething he has never done beforeβand presented it to us. He gave us communion, prayed for us, and said, "You guys are married."
My traditional marriage was the simplest, easiest wedding I've ever seen. We were just five people, and that's how we got married. Ladies and gentlemen, there's a supernatural way to marry, and that is if you marry according to His way. If I go further, I'll tell you the miracles upon miracles and how God planted us, the growth in ministry, and the growth in our life from nothing to greatness. There's a supernatural way to marry.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
In one minute, can we open our voices and cry out to Jesus this morning and say, "Father, I need a supernatural choice. I've done things on my own with my own strategy, with my own concept, and my own ideology. I surrender to you in my marriage as well. I surrender to you." We want to see the miraculous in our marriage. Just open your mouth and just begin to pray. Come on, just begin to pray. God is set to visit someone today. Just begin to pray.
