TRAGEDY IN AGATU: 5 SIBLINGS DROWN AFTER BOAT CAPSIZES IN OBAGAJI

A heartbreaking tragedy occurred in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State on Sunday evening, as five siblings lost their lives in a boat mishap at Obagaji, the council headquarters.

Eyewitnesses reported that the children were aboard an overloaded boat with their father when it suddenly capsized midstream. While the man was rescued alive, all five of his children tragically drowned before help could arrive.

The devastating incident has thrown the Obagaji community into mourning, with residents and sympathizers trooping to the family’s home to console the bereaved father.

Locals have since urged authorities to enforce safety regulations on waterways and restrict overloading to avert similar tragedies in the future.

I have never been this proud of our dear state as I am right now. Things we once only dreamt about are now unfolding right before our very eyes.

This is not just progress—it’s transformation. It is the dawn of a new era where our resources will finally be harnessed for the benefit of our people.

Anyone thinking of contesting against Governor Alia in 2027 is only wasting precious time. Ohitty has come to stay, and the results are speaking louder than any campaign ever could.
