END KIDNAPPING & KILLINGS IN NIGERIA, PROTECT OUR CHILDREN,WE VOTED FOR PEACE NOT SUFFERING PLS
(Dorathy)
For the past few months and even more in recent days, I have watched with pain, anger and disbelief as reports of killings, kidnappings and violence continue to spread across Nigeria. Every day innocent people are being harmed, families are being torn apart and communities are living in fear. Yet it often feels as though those entrusted with protecting us are simply watching while citizens suffer.๐๐
The recent incident involving the kidnapping of children in Oyo has left me completely heartbroken. I have tried several times to make a post about it but I keep deleting it because I struggle to find the right words. I keep asking myself: what exactly is their crime? These are innocent children whose only desire is to learn, grow, and build a future for themselves.๐๐
It is difficult to imagine human beings treating children with such cruelty, tying them up, torturing them, and putting them through unimaginable pain all because of money. What kind of society are we becoming when children can no longer feel safe in places meant for learning? We were taught that education is the key to a better future, yet now students are afraid of being kidnapped while pursuing that same education.๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Have we stopped to think about the parents? The fear, sleepless nights, trauma and emotional pain they endure while wondering whether their children are safe. Have we considered the lasting psychological scars these children may carry for years even after they are rescued? No child deserves to experience such horror.๐ฅฒ๐ญ๐ญ
Every day, ordinary Nigerians are living in fear while criminals continue to terrorize communities. The safety and security of citizens should never be treated as an afterthought. Our leaders must do better. Protecting lives is one of the most important responsibilities of any government and Nigerians deserve to feel safe in their homes, schools and communities.
Enough is enough. We cannot continue to normalize these tragedies or move on as though they are just another headline. The lives of our children matter. The lives of every Nigerian matter. We need stronger action, greater accountability and a genuine commitment to ending this cycle of violence and insecurity.๐๐
My heart goes out to every family that has been affected by kidnapping, violence and loss. May we see a Nigeria where children can go to school without fear, where families can sleep peacefully at night, and where every citizen is protected and valued. We deserve better. Nigeria deserves better pls. ๐ณ๐ฌ๐๐
