ALAYO FOUNDATION: BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT EDITION 4
It was the famous philosopher Henry David Thoreau who said "goodness is the only investment that never fails." Goodness is being good, virtuous, benevolent and generous in a God-like way.
The 4th annual pupil's celebration and gift-sharing event organized by the Alayo Foundation, tagged "Back to School" was a resounding success, bringing joy and happiness to thousands of children in Gbonganland. The event took place on Tuesday, 1st of October 2024; at the field of St. Patrick's High School, Adenuga, Gbongan.
The event kicked off with a lively opening ceremony featuring a speech from the foundation's founding father, Mr Adedeji Ayanladun, popularly known as MC Alayo. The opening prayer was shared by Pastor Hezekiah Ola Okikijesu.
The children were entertained with a variety of top-notch dance performances, music and games. This kept them fully engaged and excited throughout the day.
One of the notable events was the quiz competition and award ceremony, where each child received a personalized gift.
The quiz competition came in three categories, where Omega Nursery And Primary School showcased outstanding debate skills that earned them a championship in the Debate Competition category. In the public schools' quiz completion, St. Martin's Primary School emerged as the overall winner; Unique Glory Nursery And Primary came first in the private schools quiz competition.
Alayo not only put smiles on the participants' faces but others too. Special gift bags filled with school supplies and other essential items were given to orphans, October birthday celebrants and other spectators received gifts individually. It is clear that the event had made a positive impact on their lives and laid emphasis on the importance of education and community support.
The event was drawn to a close with a remarkable speech from Honourable Olaniyi Simeon Akinloye, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State. He encourages pupils to continue working hard in school and to always believe in themselves.
To show his support, Hon. Simeon Akinloye also promised to sponsor the top three best students with a 50% scholarship from primary to secondary level education through the Alayo Foundation. The Foundation's commitment to making a difference in the community is truly commendable.
