“Monsters in Disguise”

They smile with gentle eyes,
but hide storms behind their sighs—
their words drip sweet like honey,
yet sting like winter lies.

They walk among the kind,
their shadows long and cold,
touching hearts with velvet hands,
while turning warmth to gold.

You’d never see the fangs,
not under all that grace—
they dance in silk and silence,
with halos out of place.

But oh, beneath the calm,
their souls still ache and cry—
for even those who act like beasts
were once just hurt inside.

So when you meet a monster,
don’t always turn away—
some were made, not born that way,
just lost along the way.
