SAAYASI MOURNS THE DEMISE OF ONE OF ITS BENEFICIARIES, Ms ZAINAB IBRAHIM VIO JANBAƘO.

The Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto) Scholarship Initiative, SAAYASI has condoled the management of Federal University, Gusau over the death of Zainab Ibrahim VIO Janbaƙo, a 200 Level Biochemistry Student of the University.

Leading a four man delegation from the Initiative to the management of the University on Thursday, 05/03/2026 , its Bukkuyum Local Government Co-ordinator, Alhaji Umaru Jibo (Dallatun Bukkuyum) said it was with heavy heart that the Initiative received the shocking news of the death of Zainab Ibrahim VIO Janbaƙo who was on its payroll.

He extended the Chairman of the Initiative Committee, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Ƙaura MFR (Tafidan Kaura), its Initiator, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto) and members' condolence to the management, students and the University's community over the loss and prayed Allah SWT to grant the soul of the deceased Jannatil Firdausi.

Receiving the team, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Tukur Adamu thanked the Chairman of the Initiative Committee, its initiator and members for the concern they exhibited over the sad event.

The team paid a similar visit to the family of the deceased and was received by Dr. Bello Muhammad Janbaƙo who expressed their profound gratitude over the visit.

Late Zainab Ibrahim VIO Janbaƙo who lost her life recently through motorcycle accident was a beneficiary of Senator AA Scholarship Initiative from Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Members of the team to the condolence visit were Ibrahim Muhammad Danmadamin Birnin Magaji, Dr. Aminu Lawal Tsafe and Alh. Isma'il Muhammad Aminu, the Director of Administration of the Initiative.

SENATOR A A YARI ABUBAKAR (MARAFAN SOKOTO) BAGS THE TITLE OF OBALOYIN OF YORUBALAND.

The former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alh. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto) will on Sunday, December 21, 2025 be crowned as Obaloyin of Yorubaland by His Imperial Majesty, The Aalafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade Ambimbola I.

A statement from the Chairman of the planning committee of the Coronation Ceremony and Nigeria's Youth Development Minister, Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom revealed that Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar is to be crowned along with Barrister Seyi Tinubu who was given the title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland.

According to Hon. Ayodele Olawande the title of Obaloyin of Yorubaland is a decorated military command one that represents the guardian of the realm.

He said it is an Eso Class Chieftaincy title that is second to Oyo Mesi which is the Supreme Council of Kingmakers in Oyo Empire.

The Chairman maintained that the title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland bestowed on Barrister Seyi Tinubu means a unique, special child who is dear to the hearts of all, stressing that the two titles were bestowed on them taking into cognisance their ability and capacity towards building cultural bridges in the diverse Nigerian State.

Founded by Prince Oranmiyan a direct descendant of Oduduwa who was the Ancestral Grandfather of Yorubas in 1300s, Oyo Empire had remained resolute in holding on to its deep rooted tradition of recognizing excellence in the people it so interact with to date.

The Grandson of the 6th Ƙayayen Mafara Emirate in Zamfara State, Ƙayaye Ali Mayaƙi who was the son of the 2nd Ƙayaye Bawa Na'Akke bn Ƙayaye Gurma the first Ƙayaye who reigned from 1789 to 1809, Senator Abdulaziz Marafan Sokoto and Baba Isale of Ikorodu Kingdom was born by the 11th Ƙayayen Mafara, Alh. Abubakar Yari who ruled from 2002 to 2008.

The revered title of "Ƙayaye" in Mafara Emirate of Zamfara State which was founded over 800 years ago by the Zamfarawa clan is reserved for Malam Gurma lineage who was the commander of the Emirate Military that participated in its establishment and sustainance.

The Coronation Ceremony will take place in the Palace of His Imperial Majesty, The 46th Aalafin of Oyo, in Oyo town, Oyo State on Sunday, December 21, 2025 by 10 o'clock in the morning.

SENATOR ABDULAZIZ YARI ABUBAKAR (MARAFAN SOKOTO) CONGRATULATES NEWLY COMMISSIONED 89 REGULAR INTAKE OF THE NIGERIAN ARMY DEPOT, ZARIA, KADUNA STATE.

Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator Representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto) has congratulated the 88 successful indigenes from Zamfara West commissioned under the 89 regular intake of the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria.

Addressing them on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the passing out parade of the 89 regular intake held in the institution in Zaria, Kaduna State commended their resilience for making it to the final stage of the training culminating into their successful commissioning.

The Marafan Sokoto who was represented at the event by the Zonal Co-ordinator of his Constituency office, Alhaji Sha'ayau Yusuf Ɗanmalikin Mafara urged them to carry to the field of their assignment the exhibited tenacity and bravery so that the ongoing Federal Government onslaught on insurgency will continue to record huge success.

He explained that the Zonal Constituency office will in collaboration with all the relevant agencies continue to source such placements for deserving constituents so that the rate of unemployment amongst youth will be reduced to the barest minimum.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari called on all the young and deserving people to apply for the ongoing recruitments under various security agencies in accordance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR's directives.

He added that the Marafan Sokoto is currently funding over 2,000 indigent and orphan students from Zamfara State extraction to pursue a variety of degree programs in about 20 tertiary institutions throughout Nigeria, including medicine, engineering, architecture, ICT, and many other technical courses, under a well-developed Scholarship Initiative.

In a related development, Marafan Sokoto has created another comprehensive package of scholarships to support the education, Health and socio economic well-being of 20,000 orphans from basic to university level in order to reduce the number of out-of-school children who are primarily victims of banditry.

Alhaji Sha'ayau Yusuf therefore appealed to people in the State to avail themselves of the services being provided by the Marafan Sokoto aimed at improving their well-being.

BEHOLD THE BABA ISALE OF IKORODU KINGDOM, LAGOS STATE.

The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom in Lagos State, Oba Engineer Kabiru Adewale Shotobi has conferred the title of "Baba Isale" of the Kingdom on the former Zamfara State Governor and Senator Representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alh. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto).

Conferring the title on the appointee in his Ikorodu, Lagos Palace on Saturday, 15/11/2025, Oba Engineer Kabiru Adewale Shotobi said such title is reserved for people like him who are spending their God given wealth in human development.

According to him, Senator Abdulaziz Yari's magnanimous projects are well articulated, focused and aimed at developing people irrespective of their ethnicity or political leaning.

The Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom explained that since its foundation in about 1630 to date, the Kingdom was very careful in making appointments in to its traditional council, adding that merit plays significant role in this regard.

Oba Engineer Kabiru Adewale Shotobi said the new "Baba Isale" possess all the qualities with which he has been translating into action the meaning of the title i.e " The Pillar of support".

He prayed Allah SWT to continue to grant The Baba Isale of Ikorodu, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar good health, strength and wisdom with which to carry out his new responsibility.

Receiving the title, The Baba Isale of Ikorodu and Marafan Sokoto, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar said he was overwhelmed by this rare show of empathy by the Ayangburen and good people of Ikorodu Kingdom.

Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar thanked them for finding him worthy of the honor and pledged to uphold the virtues attached to his new title.
