LILO COMMUNITY COMMENDS BRAVERY OF 5 SOLDIERS THAT PAY SUPREME PRICE RECENTLY.
people in Lilo village of Gusau Local Government Area have commended the bravery exhibited by 5 soldiers who died while es**rting traders from the village to the Gusau weekly market last Monday.
Speaking to journalists at the NUJ Press Center Gusau yesterday, spokesperson of the villagers, Muhammad Muhammad said last Monday bandits had ambushed Lilo traders going to the Gusau weekly market under the es**rt of soldiers.
According to him, following heavy exchange of fire,10 villagers and 5 soldiers were killed. Other traders have escaped the attack with bullet wounds and the rest survived unhurt.
He further said several bandits had been killed and the rest ran away to escape the superior gun power from soldiers
While commending government for its effort of providing security in Zamfara state, Muhammad hoped it would be sustained.

CORRUPTION IMPEDES NATIONAL GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT --ICPC, Information Commissioners
Corruption has been identified as a defining challenge for Nigeria, impeding national growth and development.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of a round table engagement involving Commissioners for Information from 36 states of the federation and the ICPC officials on agenda setting for strategic integration of Commissioners for Information in the fight against corruption held at Rockview Hotel Royale, Abuja
According to the communique jointly signed by Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu SAN, Chairman ICPC and Professor Usman Tar, Commissioner for Information, Borno State, corruption is more devastating at state and local government levels leading to leakages of public funds.
The communique emphasized that fight against corruption should be a cooperative enterprise explaining that it should not be left to government institutions alone; civil society, the media and citizens must join.
Participants of the round table engagement pointed out that; information is a weapon and shield in the fight against corruption adding that with strategic communication the menace could be reduced to the barest minimum.
They stressed the need for synergy between ICPC and states Commissioners for Information to carry out anti-corruption messages to states and local governments using states media houses.
The participants also agreed that; members of the general public should be sensitized and mobilized to demand for accountability and participation in decision making process and report corruption cases to the appropriate authorities.
Zamfara State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Mahmoud Muhammad Dantawasa was among participants of the round table engagement.

NIPR APPOINTS DAKINGARI MEMBER PLANNING COMMITTEE, NIGERIA PUBLIC RELATIONS WEEK.
The National Council of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations has appointed the Managing Director, Zamfara State Media Corporation, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Gusau, Bunun Jangebe as member Planning Committee for the forthcoming Nigeria Public Relations Week.
This was contained in an appointment letter signed by Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue,fnipr, Registrar and Secretary to Council NIPR.
According to the appointment letter, the event will hold in Kaduna in April next year.
Equally, the National Council of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations has appointed the Managing Director, Zamfara State Media Corporation, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Gusau Bunun Jangebe as member, Chapter Support and Development Committee of the institute
This was contained in an appointment letter signed by Chief Uzoma Onyegbadue fnipr, Registrar and Secretary to Council NIPR.
The institute congratulated the appointee and urged him to remain dedicated.

ZAMFARA MEDIA INDUSTRY LOSES ICON

The death has occurred of a seasoned journalist, Alhaji Sale SP Kurya. He died of prolonged illness today.
Aged 65, Alhaji Sale SP Kurya is survived by 2 wives and 17 children.
Funeral prayer of the deceased was led by
Sheikh Hussaini Kyambrawa at the Rijiyar Gabas Housing Estate Mosque Gusau and attended by many important personalities that include Chairman Zamfara State Board of Media Corporation Alhaji Aliyu Adamu Danmadamin Tsafe, Permanent secretaries Dr Habib Yelwa, Nasiru Galadima Kaura, former Principal College of Health Sciences and Technology Tsafe and elder brother to the deceased Mal Umar S Pawa Kurya,
Others were: Director General Media and Communications, Government House Gusau, Mal Nuhu Salihu Anka and the Secretary State Council of Ulamah Mal Yakibu Yahaya Talata Mafara.

The rest were: former State NLC Chairman Comrade Abdullahi Umar Modomawa, RATTAWU National Vice president Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi, Coodinator Zamfara AM Radio Engineer Sani Aliyu Gusau, former Managing Director Zamfara Radio and Television Service, Mal Rufa'i Muhammad Anka, Alhaji Hassan Ajiyan Kurya, Alhaji Muhammad Tanko Halil Gusau, Islamic Scholars, politicians, Civil Servants Journalists and business men among others.
Until his death, Alhaji Sale Kurya was an announcer with Rima Radio Sokoto, General Manager Zamfara FM Radio and General Manager Gamji Radio Gusau. May his soul rest in perfect peace, Ameeen

NATIONAL FLOOD EARLY WARNING CENTRE PREDICTS FLOODING IN ZAMFARA.
The National Flood Early Warning Centre has predicted heavy rains that could lead to flooding in Zamfara State between 4th and 8th September, this year.
According to a press statement issued by the Director, Erosion and Coastal Zone Management Department, Usman Abdullahi Bokani areas to be affected are: Anka, Gummi, Kaura Namoda, Maradun Shinkafi and Bukuyum Local Government Areas
Other states to be affected by the flooding within the period are:Ebonyi,Cross River,Kano,Taraba,Abia,Yobe, Plateau,Borno,Imo,Niger and Sokoto.
The statement advised relevant stakeholders to take necessary action to mitigate effect of the predicted flooding.

ZAMFARA GOVT. DECLARES TOMORROW PUBLIC HOLIDAY.
Zamfara State Government has declared tomorrow Friday 5th September,2025 equivalent to 12th Rabi'ul Auwal 14447AH public holiday.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Mallam Abubakar Muhammad Tsafe, Director Home Affairs on behalf of Commissioner for International Security and Home Affairs.
The declaration which is inline with approval of the federal government is to enable workers celebrate this year's Ed-el-maulud.
The statement indicates that; Governor of the state, Dr. Dauda Lawal has wished all Muslims a happy and joyful Ed-el-maulud and called on them to intensify prayers for a divine intervention against insecurity in the state and the country in general.
