MATAWALLE'S APPOINTMENT AS MINISTER OF STATE FOR DEFENCE, IS A GREAT ASSET TO NIGERIA:
The appointment of the immediate past governor of Zamfara state and former Chairman, house committee on security and intelligence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle MON as a State Minister in the Ministry of Defence will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. As a Minister, his role would involve the overall coordination and strategic direction of the ministry.
Nevertheless, what is always paramount to any serious government in political position allocation is good performance as well as efficient delivery. I'm certain this is the main justification for assigning Matawalle to the defence ministry. Again, the rationality of appointing Matawalle as minister of state for Defence by the President must be premised on successes he recorded especially in security sector in four years as a governor.
A reminiscence about Matawalle's governance in Zamfara is full of unprecedented achievements. Truth be told, the tasks ahead are herculean! The Ministry of Defence is heavily pregnant with tasks and and responsibilities being one of the biggest Ministries in Nigeria. This is why Mr. President assigned two Ex-Governors to oversee a huge ministry like Defence.
Matawalle's background and accomplishments make him well-suited for this position. Furthermore, Matawalle's experience while serving as chairman house committee on security and intelligence makes him an excellent fit for the defence ministry. He has served in various capacities in Nigeria, including as the Governor of Zamfara State.
These roles have equipped him with a deep understanding of governance, policy-making, and project management. In addition to his public sector experience. He served as commissioner in various ministries in Zamfara state. This background makes him a valuable asset in developing strategies that will promote sustainable peace and security in Nigeria. With his diverse experience, Matawalle can employ integrated approaches to end banditry, kidnappings and all forms of insurgents in Nigeria.
