Though there is no 100 percent way of preventing accidents. Then, one more crucial piece of advice for every drone pilot is to keep your tools directly in your line of sight at all times. This would help you minimize the risk of crashing on avoidable obstacles.

Poor Education Standard: Oyo Youth Parliamentarian to seek special intervention for Oriire

The member representing Oriire State constituency at the Oyo State Youth Parliament - Joshua Ojo Aderemi Akin popularly called J’Icon has said he will be presenting the fact and figures from the Oriire Youth council to the State Ministry Of Education Science And Technology, in effort to invite the attention of the State Government to the collapses in education standard of the local government.

He stated this in Ikoyi-Ile on Saturday 17th of February 2023 while responding to Journalists shortly after the maiden quiz competition/Jamb scholarship awards organised by the Oriire Youth council for the secondary school students at the Teachers’ House, Ikoyi-Ile.

J’Icon Ojo who is also one of the ex-Officio of the council said; “we conducted this quiz competition exercise in line with Jamb best practice of 400 marks and unfortunately, it is only two out of thirty four (34) total accredited participants who scored 200 and above, the usual benchmark score of Jamb for University admission requirements. It is no longer an imagination but a fact that the educational system of our darling local government is really in mess, and needs to be reinvigorated by the intervention of the State Government.”

“It is my believe that the participant schools here today had sent-in their best brains among others in the school and looking at their performances, ordinarily let assume our students’ had just sat for JAMB exams here today, it means we are only having just two out of 34 best brains in stock qualified to apply for university admissions, a good reason why the local government keep losing substantially to other local governments in the case of the First Technical University of the State, something proactive need be done to salvage the retrogress.”

“The level of education of citizens will determine largely the development potential of the nation down to communities. It was in this same local government that some of us had our primary and secondary educations in just less than two decades and it was not this bad.”

“Be that as it may, we will further our engagement with the local government management, association of school managements, teachers and even the students and other relevant stakeholders in order to play our role effectively in returning the lost glory.”

The said quiz competition witnessed thirty four (34) accredited candidates from over ten private and public schools where twenty winners were shortlisted and provided with free jamb registration awards sponsored by the Youth Council, Executive Chairman of the local government - Hon. Michael Olateju Alabi and Mr. Emmanuel Akolade Oyelade from Ikoyi-Ile to help them further their education beyond secondary school level.

The first three winners are: Adedokun Ayoola from Alaafia Oluwa Baptist college, Jimoh Ibrahim and Ejigah Joshua from Jehovah Shammah Baptist college, with 214, 200 and 196 scores. All are from Tewure, a major community in ward 2 of the council area.

Other schools are; Success College Ikoyi-Ile, Eso comprehensive College Ikoyi-Ile, Community Grammar School Alaropo-nla, Community Grammar School Iluju, Ikoyi-Ile Grammar School, Tewure Grammar School, First Baptist Church College Iluju and Olorunda Community Grammar School.
