Amao College, Akingbile, Ibadan, once again demonstrated its academic strength and cultural versatility by emerging second place out of eight participating schools at a recent Francophonie (French Language) Competition.

The event, organized as part of the Francophonie Celebration, brought together several secondary schools to showcase their knowledge of the French language and Francophone culture through activities such as quizzes, drama, spoken word, and cultural presentations. The programme featured a rich lineup of activities including historical presentations on the French language, artistic performances, quiz competitions, and cultural exhibitions celebrating countries where French is spoken. Representing Amao College with remarkable brilliance were Oseni Adejuwon and Olubodun Privilege, whose outstanding performance earned the school a well-deserved second position among the eight competing schools. Their confidence, fluency, and deep understanding of the French language impressed both the judges and the audience.

The management, staff, and students of Amao College are immensely proud of this accomplishment. Kudos to Oseni Adejuwon and Olubodun Privilege for making the school proud and for representing the institution with excellence.

Hope for Me Christian Programme: A Transformational Experience

The Christian Fellowship students of our school recently attended the Hope for Me Christian Programme, a spiritually enriching gathering centered on mentorship, praise and worship, and deliverance. The programme featured impactful ministrations from notable Christian ministers including Lawrence Oyor, Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, and other anointed anchors whose teachings inspired faith, discipline, and purpose among the participants.
The atmosphere was charged with deep worship, powerful prayers, and practical mentorship sessions that encouraged spiritual growth and moral uprightness. Above all, the programme was mind-blowing and spiritually uplifting, leaving lasting impressions on our students who returned refreshed, motivated, and strengthened in their Christian faith.
Our students expressed great joy and gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a powerful and life-impacting experience.

AMAO SCHOOLS PARTICIPATE IN SLOW FOOD INTERNATIONAL – TERRA MADRE DAY
We are proud to announce the outstanding participation of our students at the Slow Food International – Terra Madre Day, an inspiring global platform that promotes sustainable food systems and small-scale farming practices.
This year’s event focused on showcasing and networking on how communities can adopt simple, practical methods such as school gardens and home gardens to build a sustainable food future. At Amao Schools, this vision is already becoming a reality.
Earlier in the year, Slow Food supervised our School Garden Project, guiding our students through every stage — from land clearing, cultivation, planting, to harvesting. Under this initiative, our students successfully harvested fresh vegetables, carrots and other crops, gaining firsthand experience in small-scale agriculture.
The Terra Madre Day also featured a Pitching Contest, where participating students presented:
How their school garden project was executed
The challenges faced
The solutions applied
The outcomes and lessons learned
Our students confidently pitched the work they carried out and the impressive results achieved. We are delighted to announce that Amao Schools emerged Second Place overall!
The awards and gifts will be officially presented tomorrow.
We remain committed to empowering our learners with skills that add value to households, promote food sustainability, and encourage self-reliance within our community.
Congratulations to our students and heartfelt thanks to Slow Food International for their continuous support.
